How good could you be with 10 minutes?

I'm just thinking there are about 3 picks I could have done much better on if I really had a long time to consider them. If there were no time limit in which to make your selections, would you make much better and/or much different picks? How many of your selections would have been different? Does time matter?

More time would probably change two or three picks for me tops. For example my good friend and draft neighbor Chad Silverstein threw me a loop by picking Coco Crisp just before I was and I ended up picking Freddy Sanchez at least one if not two rounds early. I shouldn't get rattled with all the prep I do, but more time would allow me to take a breath. More time for picks is not something I would seriously consider, though.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I think this is a decent idea. I was in the draft that went in 4 hours and felt like the timing was a little too quick. I could see adding another 30 seconds. It would make it long but you really need it more in the later rounds is my feeling....

Oh, I don't know that I would make it longer. I'm just curious about how much the time factor affects others. I was thinking that I could have improved my draft by 3 picks with more time, but then wondered how much better others would get. It seems like that is probably about right for most.

I had 1 pick that would have benefitted from an extra minute or two. It was pick 5. I first thought McCann might make it. Nope, went in the 3rd.

After I took my closer in the 4th I started setting my sights on a power corner man and as my pick got close was counting on either Zimmerman or Fielder. I added a 3rd choice of Cano just in case. The 3 picks before me were Cano, Zimmerman and Fielder. And they went fast too.

There was no other infielder worthy of a 5th round pick. And certainly no C either. Just as I picked up my OF sheet the moderator's alarm of "15 seconds left" caused some panic to set in. Then I heard a voice coming from the Delmon Young entry, "you want me on your team, you need me on your team". So with seconds left, I took Delmon in the 5th.

The OF's taken after him include Baldelli, Rios, Sheffield, Hunter, Taveras, and Cameron. Should I have taken any of these over Delmon? I had issues with each one of them.

If I had that extra minute I probably would have taken Rios, sore shoulder or not.

Hey, how about 1 time out per drafter?
