It seems like we're hearing from more people who are struggling to sign up for NFBC events because when they try to sign up they get this geo locator error message. If you hear about that from a fellow owner, send them the link above and if that doesn't work reach out to one of us here.

Basically what is happening is that due to these state laws we must use Identity Server software to check your locations. However, there may have been a time in the past when another site asked if you would allow them to use your location and you said "NO!" And we don't blame you for saying that. But once you deny this geo location for another site, it blocks all future sites from asking for this permission until you turn the device you said no on back to yes. So while you don't mind sharing your location with us, we can't get to that point because you've already blocked this software.

I know it's a pain in the butt and it's just another example of government regulations getting in the way of a normal business, but we have to use the geo locator per our state licenses. And now it's causing issues, especially for some older members who aren't real computer literate. And again, it's not their fault but it looks like we're doing something wrong when in fact we're not.

This is going to be a problem going forward, so be aware of why this is happening and help out others when you hear about it. If you're blocked, either use the link above for us, try to reset your smartphone or computer to allow your geo location or better yet download the NFC app and sign up for new contests on the app. That won't have the same geo location problem. Thanks.
