Contingency Bids Will Still Run

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Mar 30, 2007 5:37 am

Just an FYI to everyone bidding on top prospects or non-roster veterans who aren't part of MLB rosters yet: If those players do get eliminated from the free agent pool before Sunday's FAAB bids are run, the computer will still keep in your other contingency bids and just go down to your next highest bid.

For instance: If you bid on Dustin Hermanson and somehow he's not added to the Reds' 25-man roster before Sunday night, he will then be taken out of the FAAB pool and placed back in the next week (if he's added to the MLB team). Your bids on him would be eliminated, but any contingency bids after him would still run. You don't have to worry about that entire thread of bids being eliminated.

I hope this helps for the weekend. Good luck everyone and everything will be much more clearer once rosters are set.

Hi Greg,

Will this FAAB evaluation process also catch players who are already on a team?

In Chicago 2, Ted Lilly is on Team 5 (Pick 16.11), but he also appears in the Free Agent Pool. I thought it was too good to be true...

Let me know if I need to adjust that FA request, so I don't miss out on my alternates, or if it will operate as you described above.

Thanks!

It's a lot of leagues especially with all the sats. They always get it right and do the right thing. Owners need to check their own teams for accuracy too.

Gerry: I notified Greg at least 3-4 days ago about that, which means Stats knows about it, too.

Looks like the problem has been resolved in Chicago 2, as those players are no longer in the FA Pool.

I redid my bids for that entry, just in case, since it also had Kip Wells in the list, who was drafted by another team.

Thanks! We did not see that error. I've asked STATS to add Lilly to that team right now. Thanks for the heads up.
