Hard Luck Pitchers!

Post by Edwards Kings » Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:22 am

I do not have any of these that I am going to mention below but I wonder if anyone has two or more? I think these four have to be the hardest luck pitchers in the NFBC (picked from a pool of guys who have four or more starts as of last night).

Combined, these guys (Bonderman, Arroyo, Cook, and Garland) have 19 games started. Their combined ERA and WHIP is 3.254 and 1.154 respectively (no ERA is higher than 3.951 or WHIP higher than 1.353). Combined they are striking out nearly 2.5 batters for every walk allowed. Outside of Bonderman, these guys have only brought nearly respectable heat (K per IP of 63%). Still and all premier stats.

The hard luck comes in the Wins. Their combined records are 0-4-15. Now that has gotta hurt!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I have Bonderman and Garland both on one of my teams. Needless to say I'm getting killed with wins! LOL

Also on this team I have the recently injured Mike Mussina and Hideki Matsui (who fortunately is back now).

Tough start one of the ole' Scrat satellite teams!

I have Arroyo and Garland but since i wasn't counting on Garland to do much, Arroyo is the big disappointment. I think he's a stud though snd the wins will come.

Well, bad news is that I have both Garland and Bonderman. Silver lining is that I find myself currently in 3rd place in my leagues pitching standings. Figure their luck is bound to turn soon enough.
