That's right, we are now under 100 days until the official start of the 2024 MLB season, so a countdown must begin. This countdown is toward the Thursday, March 28th MLB openers that include all 30 MLB teams. All 30 MLB teams will be in action that day for what should be a glorious start to the 2024 season.
Now, there is a two-game series in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday-Thursday, March 20-21 between the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers. This one does count in the MLB regular season standings, but in the NFBC this will be a "free look" series for all NFBC players. What that means is that no matter when you draft, you will get a "free look" at these results and can decide to start or bench any of these players before the start of the Thursday, March 28th games. If you start any of those players on Thursday, March 28th, they will get their results for that day/weekend AND for the March 20th and 21st games. It's as simple as that.
So this countdown is toward the March 28th Opening Day for all 30 MLB teams. And I'll sprinkle in a mix of new MLB player photos with vintage player photos. Some numbers are just synonymous with past players (think Jackie Robinson and No. 42 or Hank Aaron and No. 44), so we HAVE to include former players.
