Bob Catsiroumpas Wins 2024 NFBC Cutline & $70,000

Bob Catsiroumpas of London, Ontario won his THIRD NFBC Cutline Championship overall title as he won this year's $70,000 grand prize. Bob topped a field of 1,390 teams to win his third Cutline Championship title since 2019. He previously won the overall title in 2019 and 2021, becoming the only multi-time champion in this great format.

Bob finished first at "the final table" of 20 teams over the last three weeks, edging Jim Costello by 23.2 points for the title. Bob entered the last three-week period of the Championship Round with the most points and he stayed on top the entire way, although it got close at the end. He also had a second team among the final table and that team finished 10th overall.

Jim Costello earned $15,000 for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the Top 5 were Ben Roy ($12,500), David Matthew Hinkel ($10,000) and Joshua Dawalt ($7,500). The Top 20 at "the final table" all earned cash prizes. Anthony Palavis won the Wild Card Tier to earn $2,000, edging Jon Stadtmueller, who earnd $1,500 for his runner-up finish. Catsiroumpas also had teams that finished third and fifth in the Wild Card Tier. We paid the Top 5 overall in the Wild Card Tier.

Catsiroumpas won the $70,000 grand prize by finishing with 2,511.5 points. Costello finished second with 2,488.3 points and Ben Roy was third with 2,467.4 points.

This is a format that Bob Catsiroumpas not only excels at, but loves a lot. He had 20 Best Ball Cutline teams and won five league titles and made the Championship Round with 10 teams and had nine other teams move to the Wild Card Tier. Eight of his teams made it to the second round of the Championship Round, while five teams advanced through the Wild Card Tier. He had two teams at "the final table" and seven teams in the final round of the Wild Card Tier. Pretty amazing and solid work Bob.

Bob also won two Rotowire Online Championship league titles and finished sixth overall in that contest, while adding one Draft Champions league title, two Best Ball Championship league titles and one Gladiator league title. He finished seventh overall in the Best Ball Championship and 92nd overall in the Gladiator Championship.

We'd like to thank everyone who competed in this "survivor" format this year and look for some changes to the Cutline Championship next year. Since we added the NFBC Best Ball Championship, demand for the Cutline Championship has waned. We are happy to be growing the best ball format in the industry, but it's obvious that the Best Ball Championship is taking away from the Cutline Championship. We'll try to keep both alive in 2025, but some changes need to be made to make that happen. Look for details soon.

Bob Catsiroumpas won his third NFBC Cutline Championship overall title in 2024, becoming the most successful person ever in this format. He previously won overall titles in 2019 and 2021.
