NFBC Mid-Season Leagues

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue May 15, 2007 10:16 am

For the third straight year, we'll offer NFBC Mid-Season Leagues for those folks who can't get enough of this season and for those folks who want to start the season over!! :D The drafts will be held online during the All-Star break and we'll offer three separate events per day. All of the online drafts will be hosted on MockDraftCentral.com, with the one proposed online auction league being held on FantasyAuctioneer.com.

All of the leagues will use just second half stats from 2007, except the Don Mathis League. That $250 league will incorporate player stats from the first season as all 23 starters that you put in your lineup on Thursday, July 12th will automatically get their first half stats added into the standings. Then play will carry on from that point. This year the Don Mathis League will carry a 600 IP minimum, while the other mid-season leagues will have a 300 IP minimum.

Here's the proposed schedule for the NFBC Mid-Season Leagues, with the Register link expected to be live soon:

Monday, July 9th

$100 Satellite, winner-take-all for a 2008 NFBC free entry, 9 p.m. EST

$250 Satellite, Pay Top 3 finishers, 7 p.m. EST

$500 Satellite, Pay Top 3 finishers, 7 p.m. EST

Tuesday, July 10th

$100 Satellite, winner-take-all for a 2008 NFBC free entry, 7 p.m. EST

$250 Don Mathis League, Pay Top 3 finishers (retain 1st half stats), 7 p.m. EST

$250 Satellite Auction League, Pay Top 3 finishers, 7 p.m. EST

Wednesday, July 11th

$100 Satellite, winner-take-all for a 2008 NFBC free entry, 7 p.m. EST

$250 Satellite, Pay Top 3 finishers, 7 p.m. EST

$1,000 Satellite, Pay Top 3 finishers, 7 p.m. EST

If you're interested in any of these leagues, let me know and I'll secure a spot for you and we won't need payment until we have a full league. You can also sign up online and again we won't hit your credit card until we know that particular league is full with 15 owners. Sound good?

Good luck the rest of the way and if you're looking for another challenge this year come on board for some second half fun. Look for the updated Mid-Season Rules link to be live in the next week or so.

What does the "2nd option if you're interested" mean for the $100 satellite leagues? If who is interested? Is it voted on by the league participants?

$100 Satellite Leagues:

1st Place: Winner take all for a 2008 NFBC free entry

$100 Satellite Leagues (2nd option if you're interested):

1st Place: $800

2nd Place: $300

3rd Place: $150

Please hold one spot in each of the $100 Leagues for me. Tried the signup page today, but it didn't appear to be up and running.

3rd Place: $150 We do offer the second $100 option for pre-season satellite leagues. I did not offer that for the mid-season league as I figured for half a season of competition providing a free entry in next year's main event would be more appealing. If I'm wrong, I'll add one more level of $100 mid-season leagues, maybe on Wednesday night. Sound good?

Thanks for clearing that up Greg. Due to circumstances at home, I am unable to participate in a "live" in person NFBC event and therefore it would make no sense to compete for that type of prize. However, I would definetly be interested in a $100 top 3 win a money prize satellite midseason league.

Greg - I did not see a $100 top 3 win money prize league for Wednesday, July 11; am I somehow missing it or did you decide not to offer that option?
