Continuity
I really wanted to call this prong “Consistent Simplicity” but I like the sound of the word Continuity and incorporating the sense of these three attributes would make for an ideal rule….
For me a rule should be easily understood, stay the same, and contribute to the smooth flow of play in its application.
The present rules at the root of all my “Pronging” concern eligibility of players, free agency, and FAAB. What players are eligible when, their status in free agency, and if they can be acquired via FAAB are the issues. The existing rules exhibt none of the afore mentioned characteristics.
In the last three seasons we have had 3 ways of defining “Draft” eligibility. Players can be eligible to be drafted, then not be eligible for FAAB pickup. A player could actually be on a major league team and be eligible for pickup, be accumulating stats, and the next week be unavailable for FAAB. Total lack of Continuity. It’s untidy. A don’t care for untidy.
I REALLY would like to see the 2008 edition of the NFBC address these matters with another round of edicts utlilising my pronging.
