Post by Gordon Gekko » Sun May 20, 2007 12:41 pm

I just picked up Mark Reynolds 3B ARI and am attempting to move him to 3B and move M.Teahan to the OF for this coming week, but STATS won't let me.

STATS lists him as Reynolds, Mark 3B ARI so I don't see why they won't let me.

Please correct. Thanks.

Nope, he has 3B listed right next to his name. I have him on my team and I'm looking at it right now, so don't tell me he's not listed that way. Please correct ASAP.

He has not played ten games yet at 3B so he is not eligible there yet

From Rotoworld:

Reynolds also has two doubles in four games. The Diamondbacks have him playing third base now after looking at him at both second base and the outfield following his move off shortstop last season. If he could establish himself as a legitimate third baseman, he would likely have a future as a regular. Otherwise, he might be a utilityman.

Until such time that the evil one posts a screen shot, I don't believe him.

This is what shows for Reynolds.

It does list 3B next to Mark Reynolds.

I believe Greg/Tom early in the season stated that the position next to the players name would be the position they've played most this season, not necessarily the position they'd be eligible for.

All you do is whine, lie, and cause trouble on these boards.

You stir up a bunch of crap about Cust in another thread, even though he is clearly qualified at OF per the rules, and then you launch this ridiculous thread, once again whining like a victim.

YOU ARE NO VICTIM.

You're just evil.

if by some chance STATS is wrong, and mark reynolds isn't eligible at 3B, please put him back in the free agent pool and give me back the player who i thought i was droping for a 3rd base eligible mark reynolds.

Until such time that you can post a legitimate screen shot that shows Reynolds with 3B next to his name, there is no way in hell anyone is going to stomach THAT request.

reynolds. 2 days ago i wanted to bid on him as a 3rd basemen- because i lost blalock. when i clicked corner infield- he did not come up. when i typed his name in- he come up and it showed (and still does) mi- ss eligability. it does show 3b by his name. i then went to his minor league stats from 06. he played middle infield. until he gets 10 games at 3rd he is only mi eligable.

I grabbed him in two leagues as well...hoping he gets 10 games at 3rd while Tracy is on the DL.

I knew he wasn't 3B eligible now...but soon, I hope.

While it is true that STATS had Mark Reynolds listed only at Shortstop this week, I believe this was incorrectly listed. The rules for minor leaguers are as follows:

"Any minor-leaguer who didn't play any games in the majors in 2006 and who starts the 2007 season in the minors will earn position eligibility for 2007 based on his minor-league games played total in 2006 and he will earn other position eligibility after he plays 10 games at a different position in the majors."

I checked Mark Reynolds games played by position for 2006. Here's what I found:

Lancaster (A+)

1B - 2 games

2B - 13 games

3B - 15 games

SS - 25 games

OF - 6 games

DH - 10 games

Tennessee (AA)

2B - 9 games

3B - 7 games

OF - 12 games

DH - 2 games

TOTALS

1B - 2 games

2B - 22 games

3B - 22 games

SS - 25 games

OF - 18 games

DH - 12 games

Based on this information, and the NFBC 2007 Rules, Mark Reynolds should attain additional position eligibility at 2B and 3B--immediately.

gordon g. just read the cust thread- i see where you are going with this. do you or anyone else remember how cust was listed when you clicked on his name? was he listed as an of or utility? also what did he have next to his name when you clicked to bid? in another words was reynolds situation the same as custs? both of these moves effect me as cust was not picked up by me but by someone else- and i did not go after reynolds because i thought he was not 3 base eligable. thanks, mike

He wasn't a minor leaguer when he was picked up. He had already played in the majors, albeit 1 game.

I do agree though that our rules might be unfair in this case.

But isn't what you refer to just a generality...like Rotoworld would place next to a players name...whereas when you look to the right...it clearly shows a player current eligibility that will be brought up via the drop down menu's to set lineups?

Please keep the focus of this thread on Mark Reynolds. I picked him up in New York League 1 today, and I would like to start him at 3B this upcoming week.

If my numbers are correct, this needs to get resolved ASAP. I know that it's Sunday night and Greg is travelling today, but perhaps this could get addressed tomorrow morning.

For example...

Chone Figgins shows up as only 3B

B.J. Upton shows up as only 2B.

In fact not one player in all of the NFBC shows more than one position next to his name...if you look where you are refering. (And you know this, Mark)

C'mon.
