WHY DO I EVEN WATCH?????

Post by billywaz » Sun May 20, 2007 3:09 pm

This is my first year in fantasy baseball in 13 years (got into a $100 satellite), and although I am hanging in there, I have come to the realization that WATCHING baseball is not for me.

I like following the stats on the computer, but I haven't WATCHED an entire game this season, and probably have watched a TOTAL of 9 innings in 4 or 5 games combined. WHY???....... because everytime I turn it on something BAD happens to my team.

For example, tonight I was following on the computer and seeing John Maine was doing fairly well (no runs through 3). I got the kids to bed, and had some work to do, so I turn on the tube, and see Johnny Damon foul off a pitch (2 strikes). The next pitch, he gets jammed and bloops a ball to right field that I would have got a better jump on than Shawn Green for a 2 run double. Then Jeter comes up to blast one in the seats!

I've come to the realization that NOTHING GOOD can come from me watching baseball.

I wish I had one of those remotes that Adam Sandler had in "Click, so I could fast forward to August! :D

You're a known jinx and you had to pick Maine's start to watch? Thanks a lot. If I send you my roster and $10 will you promise to stay away from them?

But I must input that I have to request for independent verification that the televisions were actually destroyed. I hate to see them end up on Ebay or worst yet in someone else's house! I hate to have someone else go through what I go through watching their fantasy players on a daily basis! ROFLMFAO

Me too!

Seemed like every time I watched A-rod at the plate when he was hot...he got a home run.

I turn the channel when he's up now. (It seems to be working!!!)

For owners of Adam Eaton...I picked him back up in a league or two, after suffering through his initial crappy starts, dropping him, watching him turn it around and then wasting FAAB on him to "reaquire" him.

My point - when he gets rocked this week, you'll know why.
