I guess the voodoo curse is stopping the Home Runs, because Holliday is *only* at 2 for 3 so far today with 2 runs and 2 rbis...

For those of us who are out of it in 2007, it is always fun to look ahead and think about next year. Next year should be very interesting. If the 2008 draft was next week, here's how I see it shaking out:
1) Jose Reyes
2) Alex Rodriguez
3) Hanley Ramirez
4) Albert Pujols
5) Alfonso Soriano
6) David Wright
7) Jimmy Rollins
8) Chase Utley
9) Ryan Howard
10)Grady Sizemore
11)Matt Holliday
12)Miguel Cabrera
13)Vladimir Guerrero
14)Carl Crawford
15)Carlos Beltran
Thoughts??? If this ranking isn't based 100% in recent 2007 results...what is?
It is typical. Nobody has the foresight to see what is growing nor dying. They all only see what has happened, and believe it will continue as it has been going.
With all of the internet and magazines and talk shows and podcasts...we have become "dumber"...a bunch of robots without a feel for the game.

umm,, the point again is in the 1st round it is about risk management and regression to the mean. You pick up the growers and push down the faders in the later rounds.

Yup, Spy...looks like I'll be purchasing a Matt Holliday jersey to wear to the 2008 NFBC main event...he's legit!
I thought he'd drop back a bit...but looks like he repeated last years numbers.
I thought other top outfielders like Vlad, Manny, Dye, Soriano and up and comers like BJ Upton, Granderson, Carlos Lee, etc would drop him to like #11 or #12.
It was a fun bet, and gave me tons of entertainment...looking up Holliday's boxscore...and well as the 16 or so guys I hoped would unseat him.
Maybe I'll remove the damn odds, and do it again next year. I'm a sucker for a "field" bet...especially when injuries do not cancel the bet.
Holliday never gets hurt!

Lance,
I give you allot of credit - you put your $$$ where you mouth is. Not everyone is willing to do that.
Let's talk about a field bet for next year
