Chest Rockwell vs Crazy Like a Fox..........
Crazy is currently 62nd overall after inserting team stats into overall stats.
Highlights include 5th overall in e.r.a. and 10th overall in whip.
Lowlight includes near dead last in stolen bases with only 12 overall points in that category.
Of course Jeter and D-Lee with the first two picks hurt me quite a bit (low homers and stolen bases) I still have a competitive team.
Chest Rockwell currently stands at 136th overall.
Quite an accomplishment for the veteran who everybody......almost everybody respects.
Not one "expert" liked my team over Chest's leaving the draft, but I did guarantee I would win my league. Chest had once said, "don't fool yourself into thinking if you get that team to 8th place it's an accomplishment. We bashed your draft because it was so horrible."
So if my draft was so horrible and I'm sitting in 62nd overall and you're sitting in 136th, how bad was YOUR draft?
Right now I'm just 4 points out of 1st place.
7 weeks left, with Schilling/Hamilton/Alou/Upton back with Otsuka coming back by September, I would say I'm ready for the stretch run.
I'm curious Chest, what size shirt do you take? Please don't tell me your shirt size matches the size of your ego, you won't be able to fit in the room.
For the 2008 Main Event I would like "Crazy is a Legend" on the front of the shirt, and on the back put, "in his own mind".

I agree top to bottom I have never played in a league like it. I have another NFBC league where the gap between first and second is the same size as the gap between 1st and 15th is in ours. All NFBC main event leagues are extremely tough but Tampa 1 has me thinking Vegas Baby in 08 that and catching up with some good friends, chance at a full auction league, and just maybe the idiot who started this thread will show and I can tell him he is an idiot face to face. Added bonus of Vegas is drinking a beer with an unnamed mustached man from Wisconsin who I am currently upset with....
Now Crazy get back to comparing your little league team with the rest of the big league teams.

No offense Chest but didn't you make that bet after you drafted? What is the bet for anyway?
Chance favors the prepared mind.

Chest Rockwell vs Crazy Like a Fox..........
Chest, you really aren't a civil person are you?
When you try and put down my league, you are putting down the 5 Main Event players that are in it, especially the 4 Main Event players that I am currently beating.
In April, I guaranteed I would win this satellite league.
I'm 3 1/2 points out of 1st place even though my team has been riddled with injuries. With my team pretty close to full health (Hamilton back next week, Otsuka back in September) I am going to bring home the championship.
Your team is...well, mediocre. You talk about how competitive your league is. Dude, you're in 136th place. You have no room to talk. You're the biggest jerkoff on this site. It's embarrassing to see you rave about yourself when you can't even beat a "moron", "idiot", "retarded" fantasy player like myself. You're done.

I'll admit I haven't been one to follow this saga, but I do know comparing any satellite league to the main event isn't productive. Apples to oranges
If you think they are the same, please sign up for the main event next year.

If you think they are the same, please sign up for the main event next year. I never said they are the same. I think the Main would be tougher as far as FA pickups as people will tend to pay closer attention with more money on the line. As far as the draft, it is so speculative that I don't think you can say it's that much easier in a satellite versus the Main. Just my opinion. Also, I have 5 Main Event members in my league and probably a few that could compete in one. So to bash all the satellite leagues I don't think would be fair.
As far as signing up for the Main Event, I am going to win my satellite league to get my free entry into the 2008 Main.

I never called you retarded- I would not be that mean to someone who is retarded and cannot help it to compare you all.
Best of luck the rest of the way, I hope your "injury riddled" team earns you that spot in Vegas. I want to see if I can make you just as mad face to face as I do online. Maybe even madder hmmm!
As far as my performance- I am a bit disappointed- but all is not lost. As of this minute I am in the money in a main event league with a great group of guys and tough opponents. If I can hold a lead I will win the champs league against a ton of guys I respect the hell out of- that means a free entry and essentially a free auction in 08. Content league is some pretty darn good group of players too and right now trail 3 of the brightest guys in this contest KOQ, Dan Kenyon, and Vander- still a shot at some money there with KOQ having Utley go down.
136th overall is not what I would have wanted on draft day, but there are about 239 guys who would trade spots with me. No one put a gun to my head and said take Damon in the 3rd and Halladay in the 4th my fault..
Not everyone can be a Shawn Childs, Dan Kenyon, Stevieland but I will keep working at it.
Anyone ever stop to think how impressive those guys consistent great performances are? Very impressive.

Crazy,
Wasn't it just a short time ago that you posted you would be nice for now on? Are you suffering from multiple personality syndrome or something?
You can try to compare a satellite with the main event all you want, but you're just plain wrong.
Regardless, it's been clear for a long time that you must be a very lonely guy, because you keep coming back for more attention. No doubt you'll pop back in again soon.
As for next year, I'd like to see Greg put together a special satellite just for you, Chest, myself, and anyone else who thinks you're an attention-craved jerk...but I'm not sure STATS can handle a 100-team league.
Greg, can you check on that please?

So true, Kent.
Even better is they are very cool, down to earth guys with no big heads to go with their big fantasy resumes. I hope to slowly learn from guys like those you mentioned, as well as yourself...I have yet to reach my fantasy prime!!!

I do not need to write this for the main event players. But,for Crazy(Why don't people use the rest of his handle?).I wish to win every league that I enter. But,I also use the sat league for a little tinkering. What happens if I do this...The sats are a tune up for the main eventers.
It is quite daunting to sit at a table and see known ringers like points on a compass.Lets see I know those five guys are damn good, and I am pretty sure some of these guys I do not know are pretty good. Why am I here?Hey I am just trying to hold my own and not bring shame to myself.
Sorry. But,to be second in a sat league, and compare yourself to a fine player like Kent.Is like a single A player giving pointers to Pujols on how to hit a fastball.

Chest Rockwell vs Crazy Like a Fox..........
Crazy,
Put me in the camp as rooting to see you in Vegas in 2008. However, if I were you, I am not so sure I'd be rooting to go man-up with Chest in his league next year. I've gone up against him twice now, in the Champs League, and Vegas in '05, both times I've come up short. Ecspecially this year in the Champs League, he is putting a beating on the rest of us.
I don't mind you tooting your own horn here, but please stop taking your satellite stats and subbing them into the main event, it doesn't work that way, and it is foolish. As GG said, apples and oranges.
Finish strong.

Chest Rockwell vs Crazy Like a Fox..........
Relative newbie to NFBC main event (Dead Rabbits NY8)and participated the last 2 yrs, also in the satelitte league with Crazy Fox and sitting in 3rd place. Name is appropriate, based on some of his postings on league site, which included stating he is better than Jesus in fantasy baseball.
Fox's team has sit in 1st or 2nd all year, but it is a joke to compare Main Event to the satelitte leagues. We have at least 5 teams, who are barely active and one team which has 20 points and has not made a move since the begin of the season. While the competition is brutally tough in Main Event, with 99% of the teams active till the end. Fox, it is clear you know your baseball, but maybe you should tone it down with the ranting and raving. good luck the rest of the way.

After painstakingly crunching the numbers, players, leagues, and Managers, etc all through the night, I have come up with the following data.
If Crazy's team were installed in the 375 teams playing in the Main that he would finish 227.
Of course, I'm talking 11x11.
Yeah, apples and oranges...
Crazy, I swore that I would never respond to one of your posts since they are just attention receiving vehicles for yourself but I will reiterate (that means repeat) a challenge given to you earlier in the year. I will enter your 11x11 league next year if you'll come to the main event.
I don't think you'll accept the challenge, using money or time or something else as an excuse. Why should you? Its easier to compare yourself on the outskirts rather than manup and get in the fray with the big boys.
You would get a lot more respect (That ship may have already sailed)if you'd quit your manlove for Chest and pounding your chest about being second in an individual league. There are close to 100 leagues in the NFBC, besides the five I participate in, I couldn't tell you who is second, let alone first in those leagues...probably because those players have class or know its a long year.
You probably don't know that Chest is a soon-to-be-dad. In about two years his kid and you will have something in common. Thankfully, her 'Mommy look at me' stage will pass.

Chris Ray [/QUOTE]Crazy, nicely done so far. I will say that the $100 winner take all leagues are extremely different in terms of participation levels which makes results unreliable to compare. I would suggest that participation in the $1250 or above leagues are comparable. Personally, I found the $100 leagues useless last year as even for practice for the main event as people just did outlandish things when so little $ is on the line.
I would echo some of the other comments, I wish everyone would move from name calling. It is a bit childish.

Point taken Rabbits. I agree with you 100%. I guess it's foolish to compare a satellite league to a Main Event league when I haven't even been in one before. It's like comparing California with Ireland without having left the state.
I just love fantasy baseball. It's something I'm passionate about.
Even with it being a satellite league, 10+ Main Event members bashed my team so hard saying it's "bottom five", "horrible", "better chance to finish in last than in first", "Chest's team blows Crazy's out of the watter" yada yada.
I'm just out to prove everybody wrong. I actually think Chest is really good at this game, I just think I'm better.
Most people are used to the 5x5 format, I am not. This year is a learning experience as far as getting used to this format. Bidding for free agents, money management, patience, more players than I'm used to and so on. It's different, but I like it.
I hope to win my satellite and face the best of the best in 2008.
Good luck to all, hope to see you there.

With all due respect Doughboys, you don't know me at all. I post on this website not for attention, but for the love of the fantasy game. We are all trying to have fun. Let's try to get along.

I agree, the satellite and Main are not the same as far as the amount of competition and diligence. And as far as the name calling goes, it is very childish.

Can someone please tell me how he's loading his stats into the main to get his "ranking"??

He's simply looking at what he has and where it would fit. He looks at the homers cat and figures that he has x number and that would put him, say, 87th. Then he does it for all the other stats.
The question is: is he doing that to be childish or because it is part of the terms of a bet he made with Chest? I wish someone would clear up whether an actual bet was made and what the terms of it are.
