To anyone reading this, I am donating $250 of this entry fee to you guys, because I don't know ANYONE outside of the first 12 rounds, with 15 teams. Take the entry. Take my money...Join up!

Also, Nutty Scrat and I are funny as hell on our league messageboards...lol

Marc I'm thinking about a Route 95 team. I'd concentrate on the Mets and Yankees and fill in with the Red Sox, Philly, Baltimore and Marlins. Do you think Atlanta is close enough? I don't think so.

I'm not sure if this will effect any signups, other than mine, but I have to drop out of this league...

I'm a newbie here, and even though I joked about donating the $250 here, I've been warned by some of my NFBC friends that if I jump in this pool of sharks, I'm guaranteed to become CHUM...

I helped start this event, and even convinced about 3-4 guys to enter, and there's ony 7 signed up so far, but for now, I'm asking Greg to take me off the list...

This is why lifetime rankings can be vital...I'd love to do a half season league, but with a majority of players that are as new as I am to fantasy baseball...

Perry/Nutty Scrat/Round Trippers...Guys, I'm really sorryfor pumpung it and then dumping it, but after some friendly advice from some of my NFBC friends, it does make sense for me to NOT enter a contest with you guys. It would be like ERKEL entering a UFC match...LMAO

Diesel,

Was going to let you know this week that I couldn't get in this league, as I will be on vacation that week with the family in Florida.

I too would love to get in a satellite with all "newbies" (someone who hasn't played in the Main).

I wonder if that would be possible to set up? Maybe we could get RC and some other "football guys" in????

RC would probably be taking players like Mike Schmidt, Lee Mazzilli, and Pedro Guerrero...

Billy,

If we could get 15 guys who are novices, AND are willing to only play a half season, count me in.

Being football guys, I am sure you guys recall what Dick Vermiel said to Larry Johnson a few years ago. :D ;)

This will be year two of baseball for me, and I am hoping to make a "LJ type splash" in NYC in 2009! ;)

Marc Marc, sorry you are not going to play, just so we could have some fun with a good group. Beyond that I must say that I am really surprised that you would duck anybody in any contest - especially a satellite league. Where do you think you would learn more about baseball for future use - a league with football only participants or a league with some solid NFBC veterans?

Really surprised if your comments are on the level....

Cap,

I talked with Greg shortly this morning, and I'm not 100% either way...But the fact remains,I may not play for a few more reasons than I explained on the boards...Feel free to PM me on the NFFC boards. Believe me, a HALF SEASON league is something I've been looking for, for YEARS.

Last year, in a league that "GOD LOVES YOU" was in, I ranked between 2-4 for about 22 weeks of baseball. I fell to 4th in the last 2 weeks of baseball and made ZERO money. To me, that was 6 months that I could have done MUCH more with my time...So the half season league is SO much more for me...But there's more to it...PM me.

For waz, diesel, and all potential newbies...there's only one way to get good at this game...you have to play, esp against good owners. How much are you going to learn playing against other newbies? Seriously. If you don't get in this year (in some decent money full year league), you are only delaying your learning curve another year.

The 1/2 year satellite time doesn't work for me, and I do have some obligations with work right now that would make it difficult for me to commit on a higher level.

I just want to get in a satellite league where I don't see Rick Thomas' name! ;) (not easy to do!)

Whatever happened to this very good idea?

Greg/Tom, I don't even see it listed among satellite events for people to see and sign up for?

Greg/Tom, I don't even see it listed among satellite events for people to see and sign up for? Several owners have backed out since this was proposed, including those who proposed it for all the right reasons. It will not go off this year, unfortunately.
