It looks like we have filled the Thursday, Oct. 25th league and we should be able to pick the draft spots for that league on Friday. Tom will send out an e-mail tomorrow to everyone and we'll finalize payment with everyone and then get your KDS preferences by noon on Friday. Once all payments are secured and everyone is set, we'll announce that draft order.

We have four spots left for Saturday, Oct. 27th and there's still interest out there. I feel confident we'll fill that third league for that date. If you want in, please let me know ASAP.

For the Oct. 25th leagues, please send your KDS preferences to me by noon on Friday if you haven't submitted them already. If we have everyone's preferences by then we'll pick the draft orders for the two leagues tomorrow. If not, we'll pick them on Monday and use random selection for those who haven't submitted KDS preferences.

Also, if you have not contacted me about payment info please do so as well. If we have a credit card on file for you we'll use that one. If you are new to the event or would like to use a different form of payment please contact me ASAP either by e-mail ([email protected]) or phone (715 445-4612 ext. 653).

Just a heads up about using the Sportsline site. We'll get everything set up there but at least one of you in each league will have the honor of having me as a co-owner. Lucky you, right? Actually, in order to set the leagues up I have to be included on the list of owners in order to maintain commissioner access. Make sense?

So when the leagues are set up and one of you sees my name with yours as a co-owner there's no need to fret. I won't be an actual owner - even if you really want me to be.

Thanks We'll do the best we can here. We'll go off what Sportsline has on their site since they are our backend provider. However, there is a possibility their eligibility may not match up with what you see when you draft on Mock Draft Central.com. The link below has rankings from Sportsline and until we get the leagues set up we'll go with those. The leagues will be set up before your drafts so you'll be able to go on the site and see specifically where each player will qualify.

Thanks.

Just to clarify, the mockdraftcentral positions will have no bearing on positional eligibility, correct?

The MDC invites for both Thursday drafts have been sent out.

Just a reminder, if any of the participants want a free upgrade to MDC premium, drop me an e-mail at: geoff @ mockdraftcentral . com and I'll hook you up.

We just rolled out our newest feature, projections, which I think ya'll will love. All of our mock drafts now give a projected order of finish after every pick is made. It's a really cool tool that will be available for all sports going forward.

Geoffrey, this mean that you will basically use your player projections to complete a hypothetical season then see how everyone ranks? Nice Feature add if so, if nothing else, sure to get some fun discussions going. I can't wait to see it in Baseball. BTW: who does your projections?

[/QUOTE]Yes, correct, we use the projections to simulate the season and give our prediction on the order of finish of the just-drafted teams.

For basketball, we have the projections from our good friends at Rotowire.

For baseball, we already have a deal in place with BigDawgBaseball.com, who will have projections for us in early November. We will also add two or three more sites -- we have deals in place with some biggies -- and give the drafters the option to see many different projected results: all of the sources combined and each individually.

Another cool thing: the projections update with every made pick -- you can see the impact each pick makes on your team.

Here is an example from a completed b-ball draft: ****://www2.mockdraftcentral.com/drafts/52932/projections

This is a cool feature that our users are going to love. We are very excited about it here at the MDC office.

Everyone, please make sure you check out the sportsline site to make sure you're familiar with everything. Also, check it out to see if there are any league issues that may not seem right. This is my first time setting up a basketball league on Sportsline so I want to make sure I got everything right.

Okay, officially we have one spot left to fill for Saturday's draft and then we'll have five full leagues for this season. We have two owners interested in that final spot, so the plan is to fill up the leagues today and run the draft spots tomorrow. Tom is out of the office today and we still need to run some credit cards, so just give us one more day and we'll pick the three Saturday leagues tomorrow and get you set up on MockDraftCentral.com by Wednesday at the latest. Should be fun.

All of the leagues will be KDS/3RR and will be run on CBS Sportsline.com. E-mail your KDS preferences to [email protected] ASAP if you haven't done so already. Have fun all and thanks again.

You'll also get info for the game site on CBS Sportsline.com from Tom this week as well.

Look for the draft spots soon. Have fun all and thanks again.

2007-08 Fantasy Basketball Leagues

Post by Tom Kessenich » Tue Oct 23, 2007 4:41 am

Regarding in-season eligibility here is how it will be handled per Sportsline:

This year we implemented a new eligibility standard for basketball. We are using the baseball formula. If a player plays 5 games at a new position then he will get eligibility. However he has to start or enter the game at that position. The updates for a player are listed on the player profile page under situational stats.

All five leagues have now been created and invitations for all of the owners have been sent. Please check your spam or junk folders if you haven't received an invite to join the league.
