Hey Gregory! :D

I hear you have a "NFBC block of rooms" at the Flamingo and envision college dorms where every room on the floor has their door open and parties or brain storming baseball is going on!

Just wondering if there are a high percentage of NFBC'ers staying there, and if there are still more rooms remaining?

Where are you staying, Greg, Shawn, Eddie, Dan, GG, KofQ, etc???

This could be the first NFBC where I go solo, so I'm checking more options!

~Lance We haven't received a room list yet from the Flamingo, but I'll request that again and let you know who is all staying there. Myself, Shawn, Eddie, Rick Thomas, Randy Barbour, KJ Duke and a few others are staying there. With ConExpo in town, that $189 price on the weekend is pretty good from what I'm hearing from others. Don't wait long to secure a room somewhere as that weekend is going to be wild. ConExpo brings in like 150,000 construction folks for that show and rooms will be tough to find.

A group of us hung out at the Flamingo for football and watched Childs lose money on horses while we watched baseball games in their vastly undersized sportsbook. The drinks were free because the non-drinker Childs was losing so much dough, so it was a good hangout. I have a feeling we'll start there again and then progress to a better sportsbook like Caesar's. Damn, I'm getting excited just thinking about the Thursday free-for-all!! :D

You can do better than the Flamingo, but for our purposes and with baseball mind sessions going on all around, it's not a bad stop for $189 a night.

Yup...that $189 is LESS than HALF of the other places I was looking up.

Do we go through you, or directly?

Is there something we say on the phone if we go directly? (NFBC)

Time to book is coming fast!

I've been to that Con Expo (being in the concrete business) ...and you are right...MAHEM! I believe you see most all rooms maxed out the their posted max! Aside from the Superbowl and New Years...it may rank as the top weekend in Vegas! (WHY not the week after!!! :( )

Lance, the family stays home for baseball, so I plan on being in the Flamingo from Thurs - Sun.

I need to cash on some of Childs Superfecta wagers to help defray the cost for all of these leagues I signed up for. ;)

$189 per night is a bargain considering what some of the other places are charging.

~Lance To secure a room at the Flamingo, call 1-800-732-2111 and mention the National Fantasy Baseball Championship. Room rates are $189 per night, Thursday through Sunday.

The week after March 14-16 is EASTER!!! Can't do it then. I know you've asked why the NFBC can't just enter rosters the weekend before the opener or even Opening weekend, but that's not the biggest reason why we do it earlier. This year MLB is playing two games in Japan March 25-26 and you never know in advance if they're going to do that or not. And when March Madness lines up with Draft Day, I must admit that it is SPECIAL!!! :D

Lance, I'm at The Flamingo, coming in Thursday. I upgraded to their GO room. Even though I don't plan on spending a lot of time in my room, they are their newest rooms and I like the big flat screen TV.

Hey Lance,

I'll be at the Flamingo Monday thru Monday. I've never stayed there but others say the rooms are adequate. I know KJ has stayed there before. The location is perfect. I've stayed at both Caesars and the Bellagio, the rooms there are great and they're right across the street from the Flamingo, but you'll be paying through the nose to stay there during the Con Expo.

Will be driving in with my wife on Thursday (it's HER 5 year anniversary as well as Greg's :D )

For those of you looking but a break on room rates, try the Gold Coast - a little drive or cab ride, but has it's own casino and is close to the Rio (on the other side of the street)

I made my reservation back in November for the Flamingo. I look forward to meeting everyone. :D

I was told back in Nov. that Thursday night was sold out for the special rate. Has anyone else had the same issue? Of course they charge the first night on your CC and it was significantly higher than the $189.

64 days to go. I already prepared more than ever, and I still feel woefully underprepared.

I am staying at The Flamingo from Friday until Tuesday. If any of you guys have a Total Rewards card (good for any of the Harrah's casino's), you can get a much better rate on rooms. I don't gamble too much but was able to get 4 nights for about $170 total, including tax. Flamingo has a nice pool and a great location, would recommend it!!! See ya in March.

Randy Randy - if you could get me 3 nights for a GRAND TOTAL of $170, I'll book my flight 2nite.

I wish they would let me book multiple rooms, I have tried but no luck on that one.

Is that like First Pitch: The Cure for Insomnia? Zola was the comedian of that group when I went to it to give you an idear what it was like.

I tried to use my rewards card for a room and didn't have luck when I booked in November. Maybe I'll try to call them again to see if I can up it, but I think I just didn't have enough gambling credits to get the rate.

Just an update on the Flamingo: We have exceeded our room block already there but I believe they are still taking reservations under our room rate. I'm not sure how much longer they will be doing that, though, so if you plan on going to Las Vegas please make sure you find a room soon as options will get fewer as we get closer to Draft Day.

The room list is impressive. I see some beer drinkers in this crowd!! :D Thursday night should be some fun with the gang!!!!! :D

What is a safe time to book a return flight allowing time to mingle post main event?

I've never gone home the same day as an event...but flying solo this year...and negotiated :D two nights in Vegas for this event.

Being that Fri-Sun are too busy for many...it would be more fun to enjoy Thurs over Sat night. (I'm guessing).

When will the fun begin Thurs??? :D Figuring arrival time.

I will be at the Flamingo from Friday through Sunday night; My partner booked the rooms for Friday/Saturday; they wanted $300 for Thursday so I am staying at a Super 8 on Koval (one block from the strip) for Thursday night ($65) and I will stay at the Flamingo Sunday night for $105.

I look forward to meeting you guys;

~Lance Lance,

I have I feeling you might get snowed in this year!!

I think Thursday will be more action. On Saturday, it is nice to hang aroung and look at the drafts. After that it seems like everyone goes there separate ways. The crew that hangs with Greg has ended up at ESPN zone last few years.

Perfect, Shawn!

I'm guessing arrive in Vegas around check-in on Thursday March 13th.

I'm flexible on the return flight...I would enjoy having a few beers post-draft and then jumping in a taxi (even fairly late) to the airport on Sat night. (I'll just taxi home from SFO...so the time I get back home doesn't factor in.)

I believe I can keep my luggage checked into the "hold" or whatever they call it until Saturday night (after checking out Sat, pre-draft.)

I'll look everything over and book this tomorrow.

Getting butterflies just imagining.

Looking forward to meeting many baseball guys without the "rush" of a football weekend...or the "responsibility" of have my family waiting in a hotel room for me post draft!

No passing out...I can handle my booze pretty well! ...I recover like a madd-man! :D

I brought my wife and two kids to the NFBC in 2005 when Chest and Stevieland kicked my butt. (and it was rainy :( )

I again brought them all to last years NFBC when Mr. Kenyon (don't hit me!) and JohnZ kicked my butt. (but it was awesome weather! )

No family for football!!! I never leave the sportsbook! (...until the games are over that is!) :D :D :D
