I didn't hold back..my name is going in the mag and I play this game for a lot more then just $$$$...I strongly believe if you play this game only for money then you may as well just make ur entry check out to me...

thanks
Windy - knowning that people wouldn't think that I'd make my real picks in a mag draft, do u think I could have used that information to my advantage on draft night?
GG, on the off chance that 1 out of 14 players would think that these are your true sleepers, it's to your advantage to keep them guessing.

thanks Eagle, are you telling me that you'd expose one of your best sleepers in a mock draft and risk losing an edge for the main event?

exposing your best sleeper? Tell me, how many damn sleepers do you have that the rest of us don't know about; "sleeper" is a relative term. Personally, I don't give a damn where someone like Gekko drafts a player. I am my own person, confident in my own game. Like it has been said, these mock drafts are great for ME to practice my strategy, not to see what someone else's strategy is, because that don't me squat in a mock. This game is not rocket science and everyone has their own plan. If someone really likes a player and I see them draft them, I don't go, "Gee, I better move them up because so and so likes them."

There will be 390 players in the Main Event; it comes down to drafting the team YOU want.

Again, I like Braun at 11 if that is where I am drafting (as of 2/2); some of my friends have said no way I would take him at 11; these guys are good players; do I change my mind? Hell no I don't. I go with my convictions.

Listening to ideas can be harmful to your draft. When I say that, I mean on what players to draft.

Talking about the importance of having goals a nd what numbers to shoot for? Everyone should have that locked in their strategy.
Your actions speak so loud, I can't hear a word you're saying...Ralph Waldo Emerson

Greg, most of the chatter is over at the post GG started in Fantasy/MLB talk. However, I'll throw out some here:

Troy Glaus gets traded to a team with a worse offense and a much more difficult HR park, and yet he jumps 80+ spots since the first mag draft? Is the grass in STL that soft? Agreed Troy Glaus was a terrible pick, all indicators point to a drop in overall projections since the trade.

Below is the rest of my team, any comments are appreciated.

But your point is taken. I did not display some of my best sleepers, but mainly because others got to them first (I guess my sleepers are too sleepy). :D

But Chest and others have said it better. Most of these guys rarely draft the same way in subsequent events. For the purposes of determining an ADP, the Mag I and Mag II drafts do provide more insight than a "standard", half teams on "Auto" mock.

Glaus is awful high , i would think round 14 to 16 is about right.Iwamura seem's like a steal going in the 21st round. My last draft he went in the 14th round.I like Bergman as some upside pick but the 18 round is a little high.Ryan Howard going 10 is fine be me, if he can get that bavg up to 300 he will be a top 5 pick in 2009. just some opinion's.

For example: This draft was way too early to know (or have a good idea) of the Twins leadoff hitter (a possible sleeper pick). Besides I still had a huge amount of work to do before I am ready for the Main. Choosing between Pedro and Billingly can make all the difference. All that being said I didn't draft a team (leaving sleepers on the table) to lose. As Gordon pointed out to me last year - I am not one of the "top players" and my sleepers didn't mean much to many (any) of you. I will say that I drafted differently here in Mag II then I would in the Main, a I expect to have more than four hitters after eight rounds. I am only looking to beat 14 teams in the Mag league, whereas I am hoping to finish ahead of 389 in the Main.

Okay, all 23 rounds are updated on the first thread. Enjoy the results, which will also be published with comments in the May issue of Fantasy Sports Magazine. That issue will be mailed out to all NFBC members before the end of the month. Thanks again to the participants in this draft and good luck to all in the chance for the $500 first prize.

I still haven't received my first set of mags (I did get the first Fantasy Sports but not Rotowire or Fanball).

On my team page it says that I paid for them. Any chance something just got mixed up, or should I put my mailman in the crosshairs again? ;)

It is getting kind of close to my satellite and Gekko told me if I don't get a chance to read the mags, I have no shot!

Some interesting notes...

- 13 of the 15 teams went with at least 5 bats in the first 7 rounds

- 2 teams went to round 8 with no SP

- 8 teams went to round 8 with no RP

- team 3 in trouble with SP (Elbowbar + Schilling)
