Aquino would be a candidate as well.

Rick - Baez is out for the year I believe after surgery.

Walker of the existing candidates has some chance; perhaps Bradford gets some chances if they go the committee route.

Sherrill can close - question will be whether they give him a chance. Seems more likely they look at Hoey or even McCrory (who I think led the AFL in saves).

Bottom line Aquino and all those other guys will be in competition for the role in spring training.

I can see the seeds of unpreparedness are being planted as we speak

You guys have missed the most obvious candidate of all:

Chris Ray, closer. A man with an arm barely attached. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic closer. Chris Ray will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

Even with a bionic arm, I am afraid that the slow motion video of Ray will not be a neat camera effect, but the actual speed of his "fastball". :D

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

[/QUOTE]Good point. "Better, stronger, faster" would roughly translate to 5.06, 1.45, 82mph.
