Shawn, What print publications do you find helpful, i.e. The Globe, Herald, USA Today, BB America, others? I'm a big fan of the Des Moines Register!!
Does it still have the "Big Peach". Born and raised there. Went to Pioneer Park before it was named Sec Taylor.
Big Peach was discontinued years ago as a cost saving measure. Nevermind my question, its equivalent to "What is your draft plan this year?"

However, we may never know who the better fantasy player is between Shawn and Mark, but one thing for sure, Mark kills him in posting 3146 - 508; I am an expert in addictions and mental health and I could explain this disparity...

Lester becomes #4 starter, Wakefield starts off as #5 in April then switches to pen in May and Buchholz starts in the pen or AAA to keep his innings down. Sound about right ?

Pick 3, you take Reyes (assuming he is there) for speed/runs or a power guy (say a Pujols type) or a mix, like Wright?
Thanks - Pete
Thanks - Pete
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Also, any truth that your former partner has been sent to the Gulag?

They can use Wakefield to give DMats an extra day off; pick up someone after a bad start; etc.

Thanks - Pete I don't think it is a secret. I'm a Reyes and Wright fan. I would take either one. Each pick will set you up for different paths through the draft.

Will Gallardo fall victim to the infamous Curse of the Year-Over-Year Increase of 30+ Innings Pitched (a.k.a. COTYOYIO30IP)?

I am doing my first auction this year- give me 3 off the cuff do's or don'ts to help me be successful.
Look forward to meeting you in 5 weeks. Don't sit and wait to see how the auction flows. Know the prices and be ready to play.
Don't get involved in players you don't want.
Don't price enforce unless you can live with that player.
Throwing out the right players at the right time is more important than most people think. Shawn, in the past, do you think you've thrown out more players that you eventually bought or more players that you didn't want but knew it would take money off the table? No need to tell secrets, but it is an interesting point about auction leagues and you and Eddie have a good history in those events as well.
Personally, I probably throw out more players I don't want to try and get money out of other owners, but at certain points when you know you have control I throw out players I want and go get them. Your thoughts?
And thanks for tonight. Now it's OFFICIALLY baseball season!!

Also, any truth that your former partner has been sent to the Gulag? Mr. Deckel is an interesting man. He is misunderstood. He has been through a lot in his life. It's amazing how much knowledge he has.
I played golf with him last year. We were on a private course. It was the off season and there weren't many players on the course. When we reach the green on the ninth hole, a lady came out and asked him not to wear his hat backwards. I swear she thought he was going to kill her. We were having a great time playing golf, but he wouldn't turn his hat around. So he was booted from the course!! He couldn't even do it for a half hole and then turn it back...

In the NFFC auction, I call out Moss, Roy, Williams, Witten, Curtis, and Holmes with my first five calls. I won every player.
Baseball has more to it, but you might want to call out a player you want to find out where you stand in the team building process.
