Bonds records have other doubts.

While the talk has been about Roids I think the real talk should be about rule changes. In 1969 they lowered the pitching mound by 5 inches. This was a hugh change for batters and hitters. The batters got the good end of that deal. Aaron hit most of his homeruns under the old rules. Mays also did the same. On the other side of the fence Nolan Ryan pitched most of his games under the current mound rules. Just think how scary he would of been with another 5 inches of mound.

In all of baseball if there was one player that really scared the other players it was Ryan.

I don't know about that. There were a number of hitters that were not excited about facing Gibson and Drysdale and a number of earlier era pitchers.

Plymouth, You missed the point. Gibson and the rest pitched with 5 extra inches of mound. Ryan

pitched most of his games on a lower mound. There were players who actually would get sick and throw up before the game when they had to face Ryan.

Sure the higher mound had an impact, but pitchers could be throwing off a ladder and still would intentionally walk Bonds in this day and time. I don't know if he would have been walked so often back then because it was a different time, but Bonds accomplishments can't be diminished no matter how much he is disliked. The guy is unbelievable and nobody since Ruth has stood out so much against the remainder of the league.
