MDC.com ADPs For Satellite League Members

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Feb 15, 2008 2:46 am

I mentioned that this year we'd work with MockDraftCentral.com to provide NFBC Average Draft Position results free to all satellite league participants and that is still set to happen. Those results will be e-mailed to each participant three times before Draft Day once we have a larger pool of results.

The Satellite leagues start next Tuesday and continue through the end of March. Looking at the schedule, it looks like we'll have enough results to send out the first e-mail update on Monday, March 3rd, another one on Thursday, March 6th and then a final one on Monday, March 10th. We could probably create another one when all of the satellite leagues are done by the end of March as a comparison to the ADP of the main event drafts.

MDC.com will handle all of this as they have the list of Satellite League participants and will e-mail that directly from their offices. Obviously, no individual league results will be listed, just scrubbed overall averages of NFBC money-league drafts. Thanks for your participation and enjoy the added data before Draft Day.

Greg,

Just a thought.....and if it is not possible then disregard it.

The last satellites before March 3rd are on February 27th. Is it possible for the first report to come out on Friday, February 29th or Saturday, March 1st? The only reason I ask is that a projected KDS deadline is Wednesday, March 5th (you had mentioned that date in a chat this week). So, those of us that work long hours during the week will have very little time to use that information to help us with our KDS. I think the satellite ADP's will be great information to have, and if we had it at any point during the weekend, a lot of us would probably have more time to go over it. I can already see myself working 12+ hours on March 3rd and 4th and therefore not having much time to use that info before the 5th.

I think that the satellite ADP's are going to be the best tool we have to gauge draft expectations. By March, the magazine leagues are fairly far in the past and the MDC ADP's are usually too skewed by autodraft teams that didn't show up. Thanks again for providing this information for us.

I'll check with the guys at MDC.com, but if they can send it out on the 29th that's fine with me. We should have 8 satellite league drafts finished by then.

...or how about someone who is currently only scheduled to draft in the first group (but may be waiting for his calendar to clear in anticpation of another late March satellite) :D

Even though we are technically finished, will we see all 3?

If you're in any NFBC Satellite League, you'll get the e-mails. Doesn't matter when you draft.

It was fun watching the three NFBC Satellite leagues tonight as we officially kicked off the baseball season here. We'll finish with over 40 satellite leagues this year, which is amazing growth considering that four years ago we didn't even have a satellite league system in place. Thanks all.

I'll talk about some of the draft results tomorrow, but obviously all of the results are confidential to the participants. But we'll definitely glean some good ADPs off of all of the satellite leagues and those will go free of charge to our satellite league participants three times before Draft Day via e-mail. We'll definitely have plenty of results to form a good ADP through next week's drafts and I'll definitely ask Jason to send those out next Friday, Feb. 28th via e-mail to all Satellite League participants.

Again, if you're signed up for any satellite league in February or March, you will get these ADPs e-mailed directly to you. They should be awesome for draft preparation.

Good luck all and come to the boards tomorrow as we'll talk a little about the night's first three drafts.

Lots to look forward to tomorrow!

Anyone have any guesses on Pujols' ADP from tonight? I'll venture a guess and say an ADP of 10 and that he actually went as late as pick #15 in 1 draft tonight.

Anyone think he lasted until Rd 2?

there are 11 drafts by feb. 27th. will these all be in the first set of ADP #'s? if so, we should start seeing some representative trends.

I think this is an even better "perk" if you will for all of our satellite league participants than I first imagined. It's a freebie that comes three times before Draft Day and it will show some trends. I think the info will be very helpful and you deserve it since you helped create it. Win-win for everyone.

Enjoy. Jason and Geoff will e-mail this out for us and I haven't seen the format yet, but I trust it will be the same as the ADPs on the site.
