that is a good offense but don't kid yourself w/o miracle work on waivers it is a 2-3 in stolen bases at best. [/QB]
What is typical projection for SB's relative to pts?

I think you're tracking to be dead last in Batting Average, but do reasonably well in the other 4 batting categories.

Pitching, well, good #1 and #2 SP, but after that they're overdrafted and/or undependable. I'd say below average pitching.
Thanks for the feedback. In hindsight, I think that I did do awful on BA and my SP is pretty shakey.

Fell like have good hitting, good closers just a question of starting pitching....any thoughts? Looks like you already know your weak spot - SPs. It'll be tough to keep Carpenter on your roster until he returns. If your pitching exceeds projections...then you got a fighting chance.

the first half of your draft is pretty amazing! you fit 12lbs in a 10lb bag. very well done.

i'm not a fan of the 2nd half of your draft, but too each their own. i see you coming up short in steals though.
Yes, 1st half of your draft is the best I've seen so far... Were you planning on drafting catchers early or did you adjust on the fly since Mauer and McCann were stil on the board when you picked in rds 5 and 6?

Overall, great draft. Hope I do that well.

This is my second attempt in the last two years at drafting in this thing you all call baseball.

Does this team have a chance to beat my 11th place finish last year and/or is this a model for screwing up the 1st pick?

Rob, I was in the draft with you last night, so my opinion might be a little biased. Pitching was definitely my weak point last night which means I have way too much hitting. Here is my assessment of your draft. Took Eckstein and Zambrano too early, a little short on SB, have you at about 120. Starting pitching leaves alot to be desired, I think ERA and WHIP will be thru the roof. Was Zito the one you had on your do not draft list? A chance to improve on your 11th place finish from last year sure. There is a team that drafted last night that might not hit 100 HR with what they drafted. Good luck this year

Edelman,

It was fun drafting with you last night. It was scary how much we were thinking alike. I swear you took like 6 players I wanted right before it was my pick. That Pena pick hurt me, but I put the over/under at May 1st before you drop him. Looks like we pick right beside each other again next week. Should be fun.

unfortunately, MDC is not providing the instant standings after the draft they provide for their normal mock drafts. It would have been interesting to see the results. I'm not a team poster but I did get off to a Utley/Texiera/A.Ramirez start from the middle. I drafted my speed later without having to reach very far at all.

I know that nothing is for certain, but just about every single guy on your team has a serious "if" by his name. A lot of age, quite a few guys coming off injury, and a couple of real young guys too. Took a lot of guys for your bench with good upside if they can regain former glory though.

Not a slam, just hoping it pays off for you. Good luck!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Fell like have good hitting, good closers just a question of starting pitching....any thoughts? Hey, Mr. Eagle!

Since you kicked my butt last year (but then again, who didn't :D ), accept these comments with all due homage!

On the pitching staff, Street and Valverde will keep you middle of the pack in saves, but I really like you stashing Bell on the bench. He's a sleeper for most who do not live in SoCal. The starters are solid in the middle and Haren/Shields are going to do better than most think, IMHO. Your K's will be somewhere in the upper middle for points, but with teams represented like OAK, HOU, MIN, and SF, wins may be hard to come by (who can predict them, anyway). I hope MIL lets Villanueva get at least 20-25 starts for you this year. That would be a big plus.

Good luck!
