Anyway, here's my roster / thinking... LV2 - Pick 11, same league as Captain Hook, John Dean, and superstar Lopi Asch just for starters.

1. Miguel Cabrera / Ryan Braun left at #10, so I'm hoping for Cabrera but not too displeased with Braun at #11.

2. Teixeira, the guy I'd hoped for.

3. Tulowitzki and Markakis fall to me at #41, take Tulo, my new favorite player. I know you're not supposed to have favorites, but I ain't going to spend the season rooting for a punk like Gary Sheffield.

4. Brandon Webb, a little early maybe but I'm okay.

5. Victorino, again too early, but hoping to avoid Pierre-types later.

6. Mariano Rivera - disaster. Logic is I'm going to go get Joba Chamberlain later, and that locks up NYY's saves. But way too early, given that he'd have been there two rounds later.

7. Brad Hawpe. Like Coors hitters, even if he sucks vs LHPs.

8. James Loney. I think he can really hit, even though the lack of power is a concern. The problem is that not only did I make a stretch pick, I now have 1B / COR locked up, and have ruined Billy Butler / Lyle Overbay strategy for later on.

9. Matt Capps, a safe closer due to impeccable mechanics, but now I've committed two top ten picks to closers, something I didn't want to do. 10. Francisco Cordero. Double Draft-police disaster.

11. Joba-land. opens in the pen, joins rotation in May, becomes the best pitcher in baseball for a while.... Hmmmm....

12. Aaron Hill. Shouldn't have lasted to round 12

13. Johjima. A decent catcher with decent batting average.

14. Justin Upton. Boom/bust. Only Upton still on the board.

15. Bronson Arroyo. Yikes, I have no starting pitchers! Little did I know that I'd screw up and miss out on almost every single one I wanted late (Parra, Cueto, Villaneuva, Kershaw, Sonnanstine, Owings)

16. Billy Butler. Another fave.

17. Scott Baker. Will start slowly, but worth a shot.

18. Coco Crisp. Either a dumb pick or a good one if a Bosox OF gets hurt or he gets traded early enough.

19. Gorzelanny. Pitcher-scared pick. Underestimated that Capt Hook would take both Parra and Kershaw before next turn.

20. Akinori Iwamura. Like the position flexibility and figured he might be undervalued.

21. Felix Pie. Piling on more guys with upside who've never done it.

22. Dioner Navarro. Some upside from 2H-07 / minor league record. But a ton of guys I liked go before my next turn.

23. Boof Bonser. The last SP from my "late pitchers" list.

24. Jonathan Sanchez. He can strike people out.

25. Steve Pearce. He can hit the ball a long way.

26. Jack Wilson. Needed a MID till Iwamura eligible at 2B.

27. Manny Delcarmen. Japan? A much better pick if I'd had one less closer.

28. Ronnie Belliard. A week zero pick, maybe a little longer.

29. Rick Van Den Hurk. He can strike people out.

30. Carlos Gonzalez. Foolish pick, didn't know he was hurt.

Ends up like this

CA Johjima / Navarro

COR Teixeira / Braun / Loney

MID A Hill / Tulowitzki / Iwamura*

OF Victorino / Hawpe / Justin Upton / Crisp / Pie

UT Billy Butler

SP B Webb / Joba* / Arroyo / S. Baker / Gorzelanny / Bonser

RP Mariano / Capps / Francisco Cordero

Bats: Steve Pearce / Jack Wilson / Belliard

Arms: Jonathan Sanchez / Delcarmen / Vandenhurk

Poolbound: Carlos Gonzalez

EP I agree that you need another starter.

However, Johjima in the 13th? That is a STEAL!

EP Nice looking team. Tremendous value for Butler. Instead of Cordero or Capps a Billingsley, Wainwright, Maine, or McGowan would look great there.

I simply did not have any of my draft sheets with me and was typing in a hurry. I honestly still cannot tell you which one is for Texas and which one is for Cleveland. I just wish I owned them both at this point. This has turned in to a great thread where everyone can learn a lot- how bout focusing in on that rather than trying to be so darn PC.
pc schmeecee, get it rt...y'all wouldn't like an offensive term applied to you. don't give me that crap about not having yer sheets, how do you not know a player you drafted? that's bs. i also recall being told by chest rockwell to "tone down the anti-religion rhetoric", when all i was doing was responding to remarks made by his pew buddy gly! why don't you lighten up chester?
First off I got a chance to think about this. I think his response through me off guard and the political correctness of the world does get to me. However, after hearing my buddy Glenn's thoughts on the matter and learning that I used an offensive term I should have apologized. No harm was intended. To be clear I do apologize to anyone who was offended and I meant no harm.

As far as you rocket sauce- what is the ratio of your posts baseball to just starting trouble and argue. Pretty much all I have seen from you is wanting to jump in on stuff that is absolutely none of your concern- the stuff with Patrick and a bet between SPY and Dub. The whole mess about you saying Orlando was weaker than Vegas even though after 5 years of this contest you have played in neither. I also got a kick out of you suggesting some guys are sally's in person and tough over the net. Funny- that was actually the thoughts on you when your name came up in Vegas in the sportsbook.

I mix it up with the best of them on these boards- but at least the great majority of my posts are about baseball. I also bet if you asked you could find 20 guys who I have tried to help got acclimated to the main event. Maybe try mixing a little good with the bad. Now back to baseball- You can call me Charlie Lau if you want, but if you could not see Delgado's swing had gotten long and his weight transfer was terrible last year then maybe the time you could spend on baseball on these boards would be very helpful. You may not love GG but he knows baseball.

BTW- thanks for calling me a pew buddy that was a nice compliment. It beats bjoak's reference to me as butterbean, someone else's reference of Chest looks like Curt Angle after he let himself go, and the usual you look just like Jim Leyritz reference.

You can respond back if you like I am sure you will with an insult or two thrown in my direction. I will ignore you b/c you seem pretty miserable to me and the one thing misery loves is company. Good luck to you in your teams this year.

[/QB]i'm sorry at least half the posts on here are about ppl posting their teams & asking for opinions. it was you that jumped in on the crazy v gly pitching bet, and i believe that i was agreeing w/ you on that one. same thing w/ spy v dub, they were ASKING for ppl's thoughts on their bet...am i the only person excluded from doing so chester? oh the whole sally in person etc. it's been my experience that many ppl like to talk tough when they know there is no likelihood of actually meeting the person they're insulting in person. i assure you that is not the case w/ me. i will say to yer face ANYTHING that i type here. as far orlando v vegas, i believe the original topic was: what is most important to you...draft position or who's in your league? i made the claim that who is in my league would concern me more than my draft pos, and i believe they're are more experienced players in vegas than orlando. you can continue to try to twist it to so that i appear to be the irrational one, but a true examination of what i've ACTUALLY said proves you wrong every time. good luck to you sir.

Terms that may be acceptable in Parts Unknown, FL may be entirely unsuitable in Flushing, NY.

Difference is IMO you backed it up with that team you laid down. I would not discount Chris though he is a pretty good player and IMO he has a good one too. I will be shocked if they both are not top 5.

I do not get your Mark Twain comment- maybe just a long work week and my little girl is waking up every 10 minutes cuz her belly hurts.

Posted the line-up on another thread, but I will go through my thinking here.

NY League 3 15th pick, 2nd year in the Main Event

Picks 15/16 Fielder/Ichiro. Did not expect Prince to be there, Tex was the back-up. I honestly think Ichiro is going to have his career year, and I will need the BA/Speed (as you will see)

Picks 45/46 Dunn/Cano. Happy Dunn was there, C. Guillen was the back-up. Expect Cano to keep progressing

Picks 75/76 King Felix/Smoltz. Average age ~30! From the 15th slot I felt like I could put together a nice collection of starters. These are the first two.

Picks 105/106 Alex Gordon/Chad Billingsley. I like Gordon for the Sophomore Step-up. Love Billingsley despite a weak spring. If Hamilton was here, I would have taken him over Gordon, he went about 7 picks before.

Picks 135/136 Soria/Hughes. A team in this league punted started, so closers were getting scarce fast. Soria was the only legit one I ended up with. Hughes joins the rotation

Picks 165/166, 195/196 Willingham/Greinke/Longoria/S. Drew. Wanted Khalil Greene with 165, he was taken right before me. Most likely worked out for the best, Drew has upside in multiple categories and should not kill the BA as much as Greene

Picks 225/226, 255/256 Bartlett/Jacobs/Howry/Kearns. First of a few Judy's, which most would prefer to avoid, needed some speed. Happy with the other picks, Howry should get a few saves and could close at some point. We will see how Kearns hits in the new park.

Picks 285/286 M. Owings/Rajai Davis. Rounding out the starting staff and added another player often confused with a feminine 4 letter word

Next 2 picks were my catchers Buck/Ross and the rest is as follows:

Jenkins/Jurjens/Ortmeier/Patterson/Njyer Morgan/Alexi Ramirez/Justin Miller/Kendry Morales.

Not thrilled with the end, although the Ramirez pick could work out nicely. Overall I was very happy. Need to be able to adjust on the fly a little more and have to improve my end game. Any comments appreciated and good luck to all.
Tommy B.
