So what will it be called? The Ambrosius?

It could be the worlds largest sportsbook themed casino, specializing in everything the sports fanatic could want, offering live in season/second chance auction and draft leagues for both baseball and football. The tables in the sportsbook would be equipped with LCD TV's which would have a direct link to all NFBC/NFFC website/stat pages. The book would post futures odds for all the heavy hitters(Childs, KJ Duke, Capt Hook, Zola, Jules, Gekko, Manger, Longood, etc.) in their race for the NFBC/NFFC crowns.

And that's just for starters! The possibilities are endless!

[/QUOTE]One of my usual hobbies when I am in Vegas is to find ways new casinos could make money other than to just pour more and more money into size and swank. That they don't have a casino that is centered on catering to the sports fan is amazing to me. I bet NY, NY does 50% better at their sportsbook by virtue of the fact that ESPNZone is in there. A sports place with giant TV's everywhere would make a killing. And not just at the sports book. Imagine you can be at the black jack table and clearly see the game at the same time.

Maybe you alienate some women, but I would think that you are going to generate a hell of a lot more business than you'll lose being the only place in town doing it.

I really enjoy playing poker and watching the games on the screens in the poker room. However playing blackjack, craps, or whatever, as a casino owner you want the games to move as fast as possible. More hands dealt or wheel spins the more they make. I agree it would be great for the player, though.

I'll give you that and I realize that, but the current Vegas has all the attractions to get people into the casino, but once you're in there they are all virtually identical. I think the future of Vegas is to have things that make people say I want to play in *there*. If you have twice as many people in your place you worry less about things moving at 2/3 of the normal place. It's math. Places like the Rio have tried things before, but it can be done so much better.

Cal Neva in Reno has a pleasant game room upstairs.

A fairly large Horse Betting area that is glassed in to keep out the noise...the sportsbook there is pretty big for Reno, and has screens all around...and the roulette and blackjack and even slot areas have TV screens with the games on spread out all over.

I haven't been there in like 8 years, but it was by far my favorite place to play and bet on sports in Reno.

Us Cheeseheads will laugh all the way to the cooler as folks enter their yellow rooms and bask in the smell of all the finest cheeses from Wisconsin. What a way to start a hotel/casino for sports lovers.

Actually, I like the yellow of Corona better than cheese, which tells you how much I love Corona!!

I'm with RT, my new sportsbook would duplicate the hospitality of the Stardust sportsbook with a similar setup and twice the number of betting chairs. Man, I'd be in heaven then.

I go to Vegas enough. I should have my own hotel.

For those folks planning their trips to Las Vegas for the NFFC drafts this August, here's my itinerary: Because of our NBC Sports events, I'm coming in early and leaving late. I anticipate more work and thus need one day to rest.

I'm coming to Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 27th and leaving Tuesday morning, Sept. 2nd. Come and join me for some fun and sun around the Flamingo pool as the weather forecast calls for 107 degrees and no clouds!!!
