I have always wondered how some errors are made and corrected. Are the errors being compared to the signed boards, or are they just being made based on what people are posting? What if there was an error on the board and the owner signed off? Does that mean he can make a change still or is he stuck with the player?

I noticed an error on Team Tang's team - Las Vegas $650 NL Auction League. We should have Micah Owings in round 13, not Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

HT [/QUOTE]How are errors made??? Well, each player is assigned a four-digit number and our staffers type in all 450 players per board. Usually we have a typo on the numbers. It happens and we correct it. Sometimes the sticker is wrong and we correct that. **it happens sometimes. The key is to get the rosters correct as soon as possible so nobody can pick up free agents who should be on others' rosters. Simple enough.

I mean no disrespect, as errors and s**t happens all the time. There are a lot of inputs to go through what with 450 players for all 390 teams, just in the Main event alone. Again this post was not meant to offend anyone or call into question work ethic, etc... as you an your team do a tremendous job year in and year out.

I was just curious about the off chance that there was a roster/sticker error and the owner signed off on the error. Would that error be fixed anyway. If that were the case, then I am curious as to why the owners sign off on the roster boards. Maybe its been covered before, and I am just rehashing yesterday's news.

However, you are correct that there are times when the wrong sticker was located on the small board and either the owner didn't sign it or he did with the wrong sticker. In either case, we try to make sure the owner has the team he drafted and get it right. It serves no one any purpose to "stick it" to them for not seeing the mistake on the small board by one of our employees, especially when the big board had the right sticker.

As you ask: Then why have everyone sign the small boards? Because mistakes are found at that time and we can eliminate some of what we're going through at that point. But trust me, I've looked at Jeff Weaver stickers enough to not notice it should be Jared and thus it's easy for folks to sign off and not notice the error. We don't want Jared in a league's free agent pool when he shouldn't be there as it will hurt the overall integrity of the contest. As long as the error is caught, that's the key.

No offense taken with the question and it is a legitimate one. But again, the goal is to give everyone the players they drafted and signing the small board is one step of the process. We're the second step as we correct errors that shouldn't have been made in the first place. Sound good?

Greg and Tom, there is an error on our roster, the Schwartzstops in NY League 9. Our bench includes Mets OF Jacob Cruz (STATS player ID 5659) but it should be Rangers RP Joaquin Benoit (6659). Please ask STATS to correct this. Thanks!
