1st year in NFBC, love it so far!! Am in satelite league and am preparing to bid for free agents but have no clue as to how much to bid. I realize it is a crapshoot but what would you guys suggest bidding this early for a guy like Gerald Laird? Appreciate your thoughts!!

I realize it is a crapshoot but what would you guys suggest bidding this early for a guy like Gerald Laird? Appreciate your thoughts!! Here's the best advise I can give you: Take a look at last year's FAAB bids for a guideline, but realize that every league is different. We posted the winning FAAB bids for every league every week within the General Discussion and I'll show you how to get there.

Within the Message Boards, go to General Discussion.

Look in the upper right hand corner and you'll see an area that says "Show Topics For the Last 45 Days." Pull that arrow down to "Show Topics For the Last Year."

Then go to Page 21 and you'll find a thread that says Week 1 FAAB bids. There you'll see all of the winning bids for Week 1. Go to Page 20 and you'll find Week 2 and Week 3. Keep going back and you'll find them for all 26 weeks.

This is the best info you can find and you'll see that guys like Ryan Braun got bids all over the board. Good luck.

That was great info! I was wondering the same question, GREAT response.

I was also wondering, do you have to drop someone off our teams right after you win the bid? Because I know we are to only have 30 players on our rosters at a time.

Could you explain that a little? Thank you

Could you explain that a little? Thank you When you make a bid, you'll be asked to cut someone at that time. So yes, you must know who you are cutting if you get that player and do that for all of your conditional bids as well. You can never have more than 30 players on your roster at any one time and if you don't cut someone the computer won't allow the bid.

Went back to look at the price range and it was interesting to see some of the names dropped in week 1, Braun, Gregg, Lincecum, Kemp, Loney, Pedroia, Pence, Polanco, Soria to name a few. I wonder if cutting the cord prematurely cost any of those owners valuable places in the standings? Some interesting stuff and the good old hindsight sure is great, LOL
