I'll bet $500 to win or lose $500 that Cliff Lee has an ERA of over 3.40 at seasons end.
Even if he shuts it down tomorrow...the bet stands.
Nothing voids bet.
He finished this season with an ERA under 3.40...you win...over 3.40...I win...exactly 3.40...push.
~Lance I'm inclined to take this Lance, even though I don't want him to do well since I don't have him anywhere ... let's chat tomorrow. I want to see that you're in a sober state (and I will be then too).

Dice-K must have been listening in on this thread.
8-0 with a 2.53 ERA on the season...then BAM...3.46 ERA after 1 IP today!

Heineken and Astel whatever the f@ck beers are trying to glamourise beer by using some butter knife to "cut of the head" of the beer before serving.
Nice new sales angle for idiots.

Has anyone on this MB experienced "back spasms" before, and if so...what's it like?
Cramps?
Muscle twitching?
It sure seems like it happens a lot in baseball.
Maybe it's just a blanket name for injuries they don't wish to reveal???

~Lance I've had them before and it was excruciating pain. Muscle twitching and sharp pain. I'm a believer when I hear this injury now.

I believe you Red Sox, and will take your word for it.
On a side note...
When they record the strikes and balls of a pitcher...do they record a pitch a strike, even when a batter swings and misses a ball in the dirt?

From playing football, wrestling, and a few car accidents, I've had a bad back/neck for about 15 years now.
There's been many times when I've been sitting in a chair and my back would "spasm" and I could feel a vertebrae "pop" out of place.....very excruciating pain. Not only does it hurt the back and neck, but it will hit a nerve, causing the pain to shoot down my hip into my legs.
When I played football, it wasn't bad during the game due constantly playing, but once the game was over, it would tighten up and I could barely walk....there were many times when I had a hard time getting out of bed the day after games. I could only imagine how a baseball player feels after standing/sitting around during the games.
Seriously, it is a very bad problem.....I sometimes have to walk like a old man, with my pants pulled up above my belly button, hobbling along, having to take very short strides due to all the pain. My wife is quite happy to be married to a 31 yr old man with the back of an 80 year old!

HEY GREG!!!
Can you use your clout and tell Rotoworld to name the umpire when there is a player thrown out for arguing balls and strikes. It will eventually sink into my subconscious if I happen to read the same ump over and over in those cases.
(While you're at it...please tell them to go easy on the popups, and lengthen the info per page. They make you click and click and click and click, for what used to take just two clicks.)
