I also think the walks going away are for real. Pitchers young ones especially generally have control problems for 2 reasons. One complicated mechanics that are hard to repeat or they are scared to trust their stuff.

I saw a guy the other night who threw to the center of the plate and trusted his movement. I also say a pretty easy delivery. Small sample size but oh well. Lots of teams in my main event league with lots of money so who knows.

Gene M went 600 to get him good job Gene. You were the bidder I feared most- your stack was just too high for me to compete.

I was surprised by how close the prices were between the respective first place bids and the runners up in the various leagues. I didn't notice anything like the $150 kick to the jimmy someone took on Balentien. Even if there were, $600 to 430 just doesn't seem as horrible as $210 to 40.

i'm hoping the guy i got for $7 turns out to be a good deal. i figure when/if smoltz comes back, it will be in the bullpen. then the braves need someone to be the #4 starter. we shall see

ARI is a solid team...possible top team...with weak or fragile 5th starter and closer...a perfect fit.

If Mad Max struggles on Monday, he could very well be sent back down or back to the bullpen. With one ML pitch, they have been toying with putting him in the bullpen for 18 months. Davis gets his spot back if deemed healthy after the cancer treatment, so Micah is th question.

I spent $511 and only got him in the Childs satellite. This is one where I will look back and either be pissed I didnt raise it to $700 to get him, or I will feel incredibly lucky for not spending that much on a man coming out of the pen.

I'll be throwing a bet on ARI tomorrow as a "mental" hedge!

If he does poorly...I feel good about losing bid.

If he does well...I win a few bucks, and call it even.
