i heard an interview on MLBonXM this morning with Buck and Mark. i missed who was doing the talking. that's why i stated the source could be unreliable.
that goes against what i heard, but if they want to keep him a starter this year, that makes sense
that's what this guy was saying, he felt they want to keep him in the rotation somewhere. i feel, and hope, he'll replace davis if he has good starts before davis comes back. it seems davis is rushing back from his surgery. that could be bad for him and good for max, and max owners.

thanks for the info (and hope) really, i'd hate to have $995 invested (2 leagues) in a AAA SP. BUT, thats the chance we take.

Max Scherzer scoring change

Tidbits:

Official scorer Rodney Johnson changed his call from Monday night when Pedro Feliz's third-inning hard-hit grounder skipped up on shortstop Stephen Drew and shot into left field allowing a run on what was charged an error. Johnson said he spoke to Drew, who showed him a welt on the inside of his left wrist where he was struck by the ball. Johnson had thought the ball skipped off the heel of Drew's glove. The change from an error to a single had two consequences: Feliz wound up with an RBI single and rookie starter Max Scherzer got tagged with three more earned runs in the inning, giving him five for his four innings of work. In the process, his ERA jumped from 2.16 to 5.40. Official scorers have 24 hours to change calls and Johnson made that one just under the wire when he called it in after Tuesday night's game.

Good call by the scorer, I that thought shoulda' been ruled a hit. I guess he got caught up in Maximania too.

Thanks for the update Quack.

This info changes some bets that were made.

Does Vegas take these type of bets? If so I wonder if you'd have to wait 24 hours to collect.

I see that his stats refect correctly in his player profile...(5 ER)...but did they get added in to our team results?

How can I check that?
Stop bothering me Gekko...I'm trying to make better use of my time by reading minorleaguebaseball.com! :D :D ;)

Side note...

Jared Weaver sure duped many folks into turning the corner with his solid spring.

But when you combine his 2007 and 2008 vs. real MLB lineups...he's got an ERA over 4.00, a whip over 1.40, and a waiver-wire K rate.

Like Kenyon says...spring training stats are for suckers! (or something like that! :D )

entering the season, weaver is a bit better bet than cliff lee, but i agree with you, he's overvalued.

btw, some spring stats are valuable

Is this Max Scherzer thread going to get ramped up again for tomorrow afternoon's start?

Dana Demuth behind the plate, 5 of his 7 games have stayed under this year(that tidbit is for you Lance). That is a good sign for Max. I think results will be alot different this time around.

One worthy outing in three was the prediction, this might be it. If not could be a long wait for that third one.

I never got THAT deep (yet) into umpire strike zones impact on the over unders...but when one stands out that much...why fight it

Day game!

Dempster is a favorite...may have to bet on ole Maximus Bustius Urassimus!

Cool...I just noticed Bookmaker.com added a new -2.5 run line!

I decided tonight was a good night to give it a try...

Cole Hamels!

The return of my #1 pick Jimmy Rollins!

...and best of all it's vs. my local garbage squad the SF Giants!

-1.5 was still (-120), but -2.5 is (+160) :D

Let's DO THIS for a couple hundy!

All this watching Max, yet Dempster looks like a stud!

I can't recall seeing him yet this season...looks pretty good as a starter.

~Lance Has always had decent stuff, just gets killed by walks. Has limited them so far, so he has been successful. Just wondering how long it will last. We will ride this horse until he falters I suppose.
