Congratulations to Richard Bales, whose Ballfour team in Las Vegas league 5 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,302 points.

Big weeks from Prince Fielder (.364-5-8), Jeff Kent (.381), Aramis Ramirez (.280-4-8) and Willy Taveras (5 SBs) led the way offensively. Felix Hernandez and Justin Duchscherer combined for 18 strikeouts and 3 wins while Salomon Torres and Mariano Rivera combined for seven saves to lead the pitching staff.

We just posted the 2008 NFBC Pictures Page link on the right-hand side of the home page and I see the lovely Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bales in that rotation. I believe it's picture No. 17, three after the smiling Sportsbettingman!!

It’s nice when a plan comes together. It’s even nicer when the top picks on your fantasy team perform like top picks are supposed to.

Prince Fielder, Aramais Ramirez and Carlos Lee all did that for Rich Bales last week and that helped propel his Ballfour team in Las Vegas league 5 to the top of the NFBC with 3,302 points.

Getting that type of production from players like Fielder, Ramirez and Lee isn’t a major surprise. But Duchscherer has provided Bales with some quality bonus production this season.

“Duchscherer has been a pleasant surprise,” Bales said. “I normally try to draft for balance and this year was no different, although so far my pitching is easily outperforming my bats.”
