Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Jul 07, 2008 2:23 am

Congratulations to Sandi Kleemann, whose Keeneland team in Chicago League 1 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,336 points.

A monster week from J.J. Hardy (.600-6-12-8) led the way offensively. Mark DeRosa (.321-3-10), Jayson Werth (.429, 3 SBs) and Jerry Hairston Jr. (3 SBs) also had strong weeks at the plate. On the mound, Roy Halladay, Zack Greinke and Ted Lilly combined for three wins and 35 strikeouts while Salomon Torres had two saves.

For finishing first last week, Sandi wins a free replica jersey from FansEdge.com. Congratulations again to Sandi and good luck to everyone in the NFBC this week.

Sorry for the rookie question, but how does one view the weekly standings for the overall competition?

Scroll all the way to the bottom of that page and you'll see each week of the season through the current one represented. Just click on whatever week you want to view and you'll see the first-place team for that week.

Sandi Kleemann Is Week 14 Winner

Sandi Kleemann has been waiting patiently. Since the start of the season she has been getting quality pitching from her Keeneland team in Chicago League 1. What she kept waiting for was some offense.

The offense arrived last week and befitting the week of the Fourth of July, there were plenty of fireworks on hand.

A monster week from J.J. Hardy (.600-6-12-8) led the way offensively as Kleemann’s team led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,336 points

“Even with Todd Helton and Elijah Dukes going on the DL, my team had a .356 batting average, 17 home runs and 15 stolen bases last week,” Sandi said. “The pitching has been great all year and now the hitting has pushed me into second place in Chicago 1.”

Sandi is part of the ever expanding Kleemann clan who have been a large part of our NFBC and NFFC events since their inception. Her husband George was the first Kleemann to join the fray but it did not take long for Sandi to decide this was something she wanted to take part in as well.

“During my husband’s first year I told him along with our sons that I thought I could do that – and the rest is history,” she said.

In addition to George and Sandi, sons Chris and Mike are also active NFBC participants. The Kleemann’s also have a daughter, seven grandchildren and a “feisty Jack Russell Terrier named Keeneland.” Sandi works as a marketing executive with The Baby CD in Barrington, IL.

For finishing first last week, Sandi wins a free replica jersey from FansEdge.com.

Congratulations Sandi! Though they are few in numbers, the ladies in this competition have enjoyed much success. Guys -- if you want to improve your chances of winning, then don't invite your wives and girlfriends to play, they are too good. :D
I feel like I'm the Jerry Quarry of the NFBC.
