Let's welcome Mason Favazza of Hernando, Mississippi, who has just signed up for the NFBC Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee) in Las Vegas. That auction will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18th at the Rio Hotel & Casino and I'm shooting for 15 teams right now and paying off the top three. We obviously could take more teams for that league, but we'll deal with that when we get closer. For now it's 15 teams and three payouts. Anyway, Mason is new to the growing NFBC family and we welcome him with open arms. Thanks for trusting in us, Mason, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize!

We're glad to welcome back our 54th team from last year's NFBC main event as the tag team of Vern Neumann of Hales Corners, Wisconsin and Jacob Wallendal will be returning to Chicago for the NFBC's big draft on Saturday, March 19th. Vern's "Crosley Field Nash, Young" team finished seventh in Chicago League 1 last year and he has his sights set on a money finish in 2005. It's always good to have a fellow Cheesehead in our competition, so welcome back guys. Thanks for trusting in us again and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
It's official now: Gene McCaffrey of Fort Collins, Colorado will be back in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Gene originally signed up to compete in the NL Auction League and the AL Auction League and now he's completing the trifecta weekend with an entry in the main event. Gene's Wise Guy Baseball team finished 10th in Las Vegas League 4 last year, but he was fighting for a money spot right up until the end in a very close league. We appreciate Gene's support and all the good things he has to say in his Wise Guy Baseball publication, so welcome back. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
We welcome back our 56th NFBC team from 2004 to the NFBC's main event in 2005 as John Swol of Plymouth, Minnesota has signed up. John competed in Las Vegas League 5 last year and struggled throughout the year with injuries, eventually seeing his Slugs team finish 15th. But he loved the experience, the comraderie and the competition and is returning again this year, albeit in a different city. Because of work commitments, John will be drafting at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare rather than Las Vegas and will give it his best shot in the Midwest. John was one of our first NFBC entrants in 2004 as he signed up on Christmas Day last year and this year he celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday by signing up for the NFBC. Thanks for your support and all the good things you say about us on the radio, John, and this year good luck in winning the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize. See ya in the Windy City.

We have officially filled up one full league in New York thanks to Michael Samuels of Bellerose Manor, New York, who just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Michael becomes our 57th NFBC team from 2004 to return to the main event in 2005 as he led his Kings of Swing team to an eighth place finish last year in the very tough New York League 4. We're glad to have you back, Michael, and we wish you the best of luck in your hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize. Thanks again for trusting in the NFBC.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
We're honored to welcome back another defending NFBC league champion to the fold in 2005 as the tag team of Joe Thelen of Garden City, New York and his brother Jim will be returning to the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Their team "Showtime" won New York League 3 last year with 103 points and finished 25th in the overall standings. Joe and Jim are veteran Rotisserie Auction League players and this was actually their first-ever serpentine baseball draft, but they enjoyed it so much they are returning again in 2005 and may even check out the Auction League as well. Thanks once again for trusting in us guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
We have our fourth signup for the Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas ($650 entry fee) as Jim Ferrari of San Diego, California has joined the growing NFBC family for the first time. Jim has watched our contest from afar and is dipping his toes into the water with our debut Mixed Auction League, which has room for 15 teams and provides a $4,250 payout for first place. Thanks for joining our team, Jim, and best of luck in the hunt for the top prize. Remember, this auction starts at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18th, so we'll see you then.
Here's even better news: Jim just called up and added the NFBC to his shopping cart as he will remain at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Saturday, March 19th to compete in the main event. We're glad to have you on board, Jim, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
As if that's not enough, Jim is also interested in the $5K Mixed Auction League that we're trying to organize on Sunday, March 20th. Jim would be the seventh person to register for that event, so it looks like we're getting closer. Thanks once again Jim and I promise the first couple of beers are on me in Las Vegas!!!

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
I'm glad to welcome back Lewis Lipsey to the NFBC as he becomes our 59th returning team from 2004. Lewis and I first met when he competed in LABR a few years back and then again at Ron Shandler's Arizona Fall League Symposium two years ago. Although Lewis' "The Lip" team squandered to an 11th place finish in Las Vegas League 1 last year (thanks Mark Prior, right Louis?), he's ready to take the battle again this year, joining our main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Saturday, March 19th. Lewis is even recruiting some friends to the main event, which is great. Thanks again for trusting in us, Lewis, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
Lewis is also willing to compete in our $5,000 entry fee Mixed Auction League and he becomes the eighth member to sign up for that debut event. We're shooting for 15 members, so we're getting closer. Thanks Lewis and hopefully we can give you a doubleheader to remember.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
Despite a very rough debut NFBC season, Michael Pisano of Roselle Park, New Jersey was eager to rejoin the competition in 2005 and has signed up for the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 18th. Pisano's "New York Yankees" team finished 15th in New York League 3 last year as it struggled with injuries right from the start. But Michael said he had so much fun that he's back for more this year...with better results, of course. Pisano becomes the 60th returning NFBC team to our event and we welcome him back to the growing NFBC family. Thanks for trusting in us again, Michael, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

It's a pleasure to welcome back Rey Diaz of Miami, Florida to the NFBC as Rey holds a special honor with us. Rey was the VERY FIRST NFBC signup, and thus was the very first signup ever for our high-stakes contests. Rey signed up early last December as he saw our ads, always wanted to compete in a national contest like this and put his money down before anyone else. He struggled last year with injuries and finished 13th in Las Vegas League 4, but he said he had a lot of fun and is more than willing to come back to the Rio Hotel & Casino on March 19th to compete in the NFBC's main event once again. We're glad to have you back, Rey, and thanks again for trusting in us. First beer is on me!!! Anyway, best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, and we'll see you in Las Vegas!

I'm glad to welcome back our 62nd team from the 2004 NFBC as Mike Cameron of Encinitas, California and co-manager Ron Spurgeon return for another venture in Las Vegas. The "Tres Hombres" team struggled with injuries all year long and finished 14th in Las Vegas League 2 last year, but Mike and Ron are determined to return to the scene of the crime -- the Rio in Las Vegas -- and provide better results in 2005. We're glad to have them back in the main event as we are now nearing our third full league in Las Vegas. Thanks for trusting in us once again guys (Mike also competed in the NFFC) and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. First beers are on me!!!

Doug McCready of Danville, California is already signed up for the NFBC's main event, but he now added the Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee) to his shopping cart today. Doug and partner Charles Bennett become the fifth team to sign up for that debut auction, which will be held at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Friday, March 18th starting at 4 p.m. We will fill up one of those with 15 teams and have some fun. Thanks Doug for trusting in us again and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
Okay, let's get busy with all of the announcements from today, which was a good day for the NFBC, by the way.
First of all, Jason Grey of Phoenix, Arizona and Mastersball.com was our auctioneer in the NL Auction League last year in Las Vegas, but he wants to join the party this year. He just signed up for the AL Auction League (could do NL if needed) in Las Vegas, but was SHOCKED to learn that both $1,250 leagues were already sold out. He is signing up with the hope that we'll fill a second AL or NL Auction League at $1,250/team. So let's keep those signups coming and thanks Jason for starting our second Auction League in Las Vegas. We have 3+ months to fill another one up and I'd LOVE to do it. Welcome aboard and hopefully we'll officially be able to wish you good luck on the hunt for the $7,000 AL Auction League prize.

I'm glad to welcome another new member to the growing NFBC family as Tom Connors of Redwood City, California is joining our event/contest for the first time in 2005. Tom has just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th as he's going after the BIG prize. We're glad to have you on board, Tom, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
Tom has also signed up for the Mixed Auction League ($650) in Las Vegas on Friday, March 18th at the Rio, becoming our sixth team to officially sign up for that debut event. Tom is flying solo in both contests and we again wish him best of luck in the hunt for that $4,250 first place prize. Thanks for trusting in us, Tom, and the first beer is on me in Vegas!

I'm also glad to welcome another new team to the growing NFBC family today as the tag team of Douglas Lukas of Eastpointe, Michigan and Alan Hase will be joining us for the main event at the Embassy Suites O'Hare-Chicago. Doug and I had a great chat on the phone today and he said he saw our ad online a few days ago, checked it out and REALLY got excited to compete in a contest like this. We got all his questions answered, sent him last year's draft results, gave him some other helpful information to get him up to speed with the rest of our NFBC veterans, and he quickly locked up a spot in Chicago. I like that kind of enthusiasm, yes indeed. Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
Tee Oh Double Dee is back for 05! Only 100 More days to go! This year it will be a little different, last year my early picks and pitchers killed me (Nomar 1st R, Colon 5th R, G. Anderson 6R, Nomo 8th R, Pineiro 9th R, Mauer 11th Round) you get the picture but I still finished for a modest tie for 7th in Chi 2, and 74th overall. It can only get better so the Cheap Seat Chuggers will see you in March Chicago.

The signups kept rolling in last night after I left work as three more NFBC signups came in. Yes indeed, the Cheap Seat Chuggers are back indeed as Todd Nord of Fargo, Minnesota is returning to the main event at the Embassy Suites-O'Hare Chicago. The Chuggers tied for seventh place in Chicago League 2 last year, but as you can tell by the post above, Todd is eager and ready to make amends for last year's injury-riddled squad. We're glad to have you back for a second straight year Todd and I'm glad to see your enthusiasm for this event is as strong as it was last year when you first called me. Thanks for trusting in us again and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Speaking of Chicago, I'm glad to welcome a Windy City resident as our newest member of the growing NFBC family as Eric Bonaminio will be drafting in the main event. No, not in Chicago, but Las Vegas! Ah, Eric, there is a draft right down the road, you know?
Yes, I'm with you on this one as Las Vegas in March sounds sooooooo much better than Chicago in March, especially for those of us who have to live in this weather for several more months. Anyway, you made the right choice and we're more than glad to have you drafting at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Welcome aboard and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. The first beer is on me in Las Vegas!

We're glad to welcome back our 64th NFBC team from last year to the main event as Hank Cantrell of Raleigh, North Carolina will be returning with his son to draft at the Rio in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. The "Hankerchiefs" finished fourth in Las Vegas League 2 last year, just 5 1/2 points out of the money. This entry now fills up our third full league in Las Vegas as we have 45 paid entrants for the main event at the Rio. Thanks for trusting in us once again, Hank, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

I'm glad to welcome back John Crane of College Place, Washington to the NFBC as John was one of our very first signups in 2004. Walla Walla competed in the NFBC's main event last year and the AL Auction League (plus two NFFC events) and he's coming back to Las Vegas in 2005 for some more fun. He just signed up for the NL Auction League ($650 entry fee) as he saw Dyv and Todd Zola in that one and just couldn't resist!
I have this sneaky feeling he will be back for a few other events before we get to Draft Day, but for now we welcome him back for this one, which starts on Friday morning, March 18th at the Rio. Thanks for trusting in us again, John, and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,750 first place prize.

Actually it was the fact that the Wise Guy, "Mean Gene" signed up. Todd, he's O.K. I guess. DYV he's ok also, maybe. I wouldn't let my sister marry any of them mind you.

Charles Papenfus of Irvine, California is already a co-manager in the NL Auction League with Ken Bayes and in the NFBC's main event with Bruce Barnard, but he's grabbing a team for himself in the Mixed Auction League ($650), which will be held Friday, March 18th at 4 p.m. at the Rio in Las Vegas. Chuck's team is now the seventh Mixed Auction League team that we have signed up for that debut event in Las Vegas. We're glad to have you for the trifecta, Chuck, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
Our 65th NFBC team from 2004 is returning to our 2005 main event as Rick Kanfer of Kennesaw, Georgia has just signed up to compete at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Team Kanfer finished in a tie for fourth place in the very tough Las Vegas League 4 last year, just 2 1/2 points out of second place. Rick is ready to make up that difference and more in 2005 as he battles for a cash payout this year. Thanks for trusting in us once again, Rick, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
Rick has also signed up for the Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee), thus becoming the ninth member of that proposed 15-team league. The Mixed Auction League will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18th at the Rio, with first place paying out $4,250. Best of luck in that debut event as well, Rick, and thanks again for returning to the growing NFBC family.

Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
It didn't take long for Rick Kanfer's friend, Donn Johnson, to follow suit with a return visit to the NFBC as Donn has just signed up for the NFBC's main event and the Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas. Donn is from Atlanta, Georgia and his "Team Johnson" struggled to an 11th place finish in Las Vegas League 5 last year, but he promises a better finish in 2005 and a money finish at that! Donn becomes the 66th NFBC team from 2004 to come back as it's obvious last year's participants had a good time. Welcome back, Donn, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
Donn also becomes the 10th team to sign up for the Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee, 4 p.m. Friday start time) as we're getting closer to a full league in this debut event. We're shooting for 15 teams and a payout of $4,250 for first place. Good luck in that one as well, Donn, as you'll have a great doubleheader to enjoy at the Rio on March 18-19.
