Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
Now this has been one heckuva day as we just received our third straight signup for the NFBC from Georgia. Gotta love the Bulldog state. The tag team of Matt and Kevin Yearick of Lilburn, Georgia are our newest members of the growing NFBC family as they just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Matt and Kevin have also signed up for our golf outing on Friday morning, March 18th and will join about 38 other industry executives and NFBC members in our good fun, four-man scramble event. We're glad to have you guys on board for the first time and we're glad you're going to mix in some pleasure with business. Best of luck, Matt and Kevin, in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, and remember, I'll buy the first beer!

This has been a crazy run, but let's give it up for our fourth straight NFBC signup from Georgia as Chris Plouffe of Athens, Georgia has agreed to return to the NFBC in 2005. Chris competed in the very, very tough New York League 4 last year and The Chameleons took the fall as they finished 14th in the league. He's moving the franchise to Chicago this year and will draft in the NFBC's main event at the Embassy Suites O'Hare-Chicago on Saturday, March 19th. We now have 67 NFBC teams back from 2004 for the main event. Welcome back Chris and thanks for trusting in us again. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Henry Cantrell of Raleigh, North Carolina is already signed up for the NFBC's main event in Las Vegas, but he just added the NL Auction League ($650 entry fee) to his shopping cart. We now have seven official signups for that debut league and have room for six more. The first bid will be thrown out at 9 a.m. at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Friday, March 18th. Welcome aboard once again, Hank, and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,750 first place prize.

Just a quick change here as Aaron Seefeldt, who finished second overall last year, has decided to draft in Las Vegas instead of Chicago this year and will also compete in the $650 Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas, thus becoming our 11th team in that debut event (4 spots left). Aaron is so confident that the $5K Draft will take place on Sunday, March 20th that he's coming out to Las Vegas to be there live for that. We'll do our best to fill that up, Aaron, so hang tight.

I'm glad to welcome back one of our first registrants from 2004 as Harold Goodman of Tarzana, California has just signed up for the 2005 NFBC in Las Vegas. Harold first called me last December after learning about the NFBC and wanted to feel comfortable with me and KP running this event. He put his trust in us and has had fun in baseball and football the last year. Admittedly, it would have been more fun if his Aluminum Curtain team hadn't finished 13th in Las Vegas League 1 last year, but he had fun competing against Meat Loaf and the other owners in that league. We're glad to have you back, Harold, for the main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino, so best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The signups keep coming in today as Mike Ladd of Vienna, Virginia (Viper on the MBs) has just signed up for the 2005 main event. Mike's "Go The Distance" team finished sixth in the very tough New York League 4 last year and he's unsure right now if he will return to New York or head out to Las Vegas. We're tentatively reserving a spot for Mike in Las Vegas at the Rio and we'll adjust if his plans change. Mike becomes the 69th team from 2004 to sign up for the NFBC's main event in 2005 as we are currently working on our sixth league and fourth in Las Vegas. Welcome back, Mike, and thanks for trusting in us again. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Eric Peden of Star, Idaho is already signed up for the NFBC's main event and is hopeful that the $5K NFBC Ultimate League goes off on Sunday, March 20th. But just to make sure he has his weekend filled up with baseball, he just signed up for the Mixed Auction League ($650) at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 18th. We now have 12 teams signed up for that league, with room for three more. Thanks for trusting in us again, Eric, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 league prize.

Let's give it up for another new member to our growing NFBC family as another Georgia native has signed up for the main event. Wayne Edwards of Duluth, Georgia will be competing at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Welcome aboard, Wayne, and thanks for trusting in us. We have assembled a great group of die-hard fantasy baseball players and I know you're going to like this contest this year. Best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, and we'll see ya in the Windy City in three more months.

Thanks, Greg! I was in Vegas last year (League 4)and had a blast. The whole season was fun even though the warm comfortable arms of mediocrity wrapped themselves all around my team (finished 79th overall). I feel sure the "Edwards Kings" will rise again!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

My bad Wayne as I looked in Chicago after seeing your signup and forgot that you drafted in Las Vegas last year. The Edwards Kings tied for seventh place in that very competitive Las Vegas League 4, just eight points out of second place, and 79th overall. Best of luck this year as you draft in the Windy City, where we'll still have a cold beer waiting for you on Draft Day!

We welcome back our 71st NFBC team from 2004 as the family combo of Greg Morgan of Westerville, Ohio and Dale Morgan will be back in Chicago for the NFBC's main event in 2005. Greg and Dale led Sabersmack to a fifth place finish in the very competitive Chicago League 2 last year, finishing just 10 points out of first place. Greg also competed in the NFFC this year, so he's been a loyal member of our family. We now have 13 teams signed up in Chicago and should close out one full league very soon. Welcome back to the NFBC guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We welcome another new member to our growing NFBC family as the tag team of Kent Stermon of Jacksonville, Florida and Jim Roth will be competing in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Kent and Jim are new to our contest, but through one e-mail I've received from them I can tell they will fit in just fine!
The fact that they plan on naming their team after one of my body parts has me a little worried, but I'll just sit back and enjoy it.
Welcome aboard guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, and the first beer is on me in Las Vegas, even if you don't stick with the team name!

We welcome back the M&M Boys who write for Ron Shandler and BaseballHQ.com as Ray Murphy of Milton, Massachusetts and co-manager Scott Monroe return to the NFBC's main event this year in New York. The M&M Boys finished second in New York League 3 last year, just five points out of first place, and 54th overall. They will draft this year at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th, becoming our 72nd team from last year to come back for the main event. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Aaron Seefeldt has signed up for each event one at a time, but he's now filled up his shopping cart. Our second overall finisher in the NFBC last year has just added the NL Auction League ($650 entry fee) to his list, as he's now competing in the NFBC's main event, the $5K League and the Mixed Auction League. Four leagues in one weekend, gotta love it. Thanks again Aaron and I'll see you in Las Vegas March 18-20. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,750 first place prize in the NL Auction League.

Let's welcome another new member to our growing NFBC member as Mike Minotti of Holbrook, New York has just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Friday, March 19th. Mike will be drafting alone and has chosen the sun and fun of Las Vegas over the convenience of New York. Good choice, Mike. Welcome aboard and thanks for trusting in us. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

I'm encouraged by all of the new signups that are starting to come in as this is our third new member of the NFBC to sign up in the last two days. Let's give it up for Michael Caputo of Brooklyn, New York, who has just joined the growing NFBC family. Michael will be drafting alone in the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Let's give it up for ANOTHER new member of the growing NFBC family, although he's an old friend and industry partner since the late 1980s. John Zaleski, founder of Ultimate Fantasy Sports, has just signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th and he's also signed up for the AL Auction League ($650 entry fee) on Friday afternoon. He's also joining us for golf on Friday morning, but I've seen him golf and that isn't worth writing home about!
John was too busy starting a new rib restaurant to compete in the NFBC last year, but he did join us for the football event in September and is now able to join us in March in Las Vegas. Welcome aboard John and I have a feeling some of our competitors are also your customers. Best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, and of course, the first beer is on me in Las Vegas!

It's great to see yet ANOTHER new member joining the growing NFBC family as the tag team of Duke Viveros of Highland, California and Perry Mullin has signed up for the main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. We now have 54 signups for the main draft in Las Vegas (we had 90 at the Rio last year) and are closing in on our fourth full league there. Welcome aboard Duke and Perry as we welcome you with open arms. Best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, and trust me, the first beer is on me in Las Vegas!

Don't wait much longer if you hope to draft in Las Vegas as the NFBC signups keep coming in with our own March Madness getting closer each day. Let's give it up for ANOTHER new NFBC member as Keith Yoshimura of Crestline, California has just signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. We had planned for eight full leagues in Las Vegas and should have no trouble reaching that goal at this pace. Anyway, we're glad to welcome you to the growing NFBC family, Keith, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Wow, we've had a nice rush of signups before Christmas as several guys are giving themselves presents early. Let's give it up for yet another returning NFBC member coming back for the main event in Las Vegas as John Crane of College Place, Washington has just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th and for the AL Auction League ($650 entry fee) on Friday afternoon, March 18th. John was already signed up for the NL-only Auction League, so he's set for the trifecta this year. John becomes the 73rd team from last season to return for the main event and I think we have a lot more on the way. Thanks for your trust in us, John, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $3,750 NL Auction League prize and the $3,500 AL Auction League prize. Wow, if you win all that you'll need a new accountant!
See ya in Sin City and the first beer is on me!

It is great to see all these sign-ups coming in. With the cold and snow, it makes it easy to day dream about the draft and the season starting. I was just noticing that when we get a sign up for Las Vegas you mention you will be buying the first beer and last year you certainly did that. Now that I will be drafting in Chicago this year, who gets to buy my first beer? Regardless, I hope that all of you and all of our friends on these boards have a wonderful and safe holiday season!

It looks like Tom Kessenich will be buying the beers in Chicago and Rocky Landsverk will be back to buy beers and handle the drafts in New York. Tom will be in Las Vegas that Wednesday and Thursday working at our Fantasy Sports Trade Conference and will fly to Chicago on Friday, so don't be surprised if you see him with a sweet tan.
The signups are encouraging. Last year around Christmas I think we had 12 signups and we finished with 232 total. Today we have 143 total signups counting the Auction Leagues and not even counting the NFBC Ultimate! The best is yet to come as we will fill up the main event!

It's always good to welcome back a defending champion and this champion REALLY earned it last year. Competing in the very tough New York League 4, Stephen Jupinka led his Quahogs team to a first place finish and finished 10th overall. He finished 1 1/2 points ahead of Ya Gotta Believe, which actually finished 8th overall. Now Steve, who is from Waldwick, New Jersey, and his partner, James Doherty, are coming back to New York to defend their league title with a shot at the grand prize. Steve and James become our 74th NFBC team from 2004 to return in 2005 as they will be drafting at the New York Hilton. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Whooooaaaa, now the signups are really coming in. Merry Christmas everyone!
Let's give it up for another returning NFBC member who has chosen the trifecta in Las Vegas this March. Philip McDonald of Huntsville, Alabama drafted in Chicago last year and finished third in Chicago League 1 as his Big Mac Attack finished just 3 1/2 points out of second place. The Big Mac Attack also competed in our National Fantasy Football Championship and finished 2nd in Las Vegas League 6 and is currently 10th overall with a legitimate shot still at the $100,000 grand prize. Good luck there, Philip.
Philip will be coming back to Las Vegas for baseball and has just signed up for the NFBC's main event, the AL Auction League ($650 entry fee) and the NL Auction League ($650 entry fee). We are close to filling up our fourth NFBC league in Las Vegas and should fill up those two auction leagues before long. Thanks again for trusting in us, Philip, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $3,750 NL Auction League prize and the $3,500 AL Auction League prize.
