Greg does have the power to change that though.

and I hear he's going to be their starting 1B... so he may never have C eligibility which is the main reason people are drafting him so high in mocks!

so.. is Pablo Sandoval going to have to start at UT? I just looked at him on Friday because so many folks were talking about him at the AFL. According to our eligibility rules, anyone who plays 20 games in the majors must have played 20 games at a position to qualify there or they are UT-only eligible. Sandoval falls into this category as he played 17 games at first base, 12 at third base and 11 at catcher during 41 games in the majors.

The talk is that the Giants will move him to first base fulltime, but as of now the NFBC considers him UT-only. Our rules do allow me to designate a position to any player and Sandoval is certainly a case worth looking at as we get closer to Draft Day. He did play the majority of his games at first base and if the Giants hand him the starting first base job it would be worth making a ruling on him before Draft Day. But as of now, he is UT-only as per our eligibility rules.

thanks for the clarification, Greg! Either way, he loses a lot of value as a non-catcher.. I expect to see his stock drop in mocks, although being their starting 1B certainly gives him decent value...
