Thank guy's wasnt expecting good feedback as always easy to find the bad.I agree with Myers as great value this late ,second half numbers.

108 innings

95 k's

era 3.16

whip 1.20

He is still just 28 and he owes me for last year.

That round Scott Baker,Slowey, and Lilly went just before Myers actually thought they where all great value there.Sandoval is another player who can flat out hit but doesnt have a lot of bats in the minor's.I think he will have good bavg but how many homers if he can get 550 at bat's.Im hoping for 15 to 20 he also qulafies at first but will open the season at third and maybe can catch ten games and have another catcher. If he has a good spring he will move up a couple rounds.I JUST missed Oliver Perez late in the 19th round that is awesome value.

IT was a lot of fun doing a serious baseball draft last night and might do another this month if Greg puts a few up.

Eddie, solid team with question marks, but once you look at our team, your question marks look mild. I have the market cornered on question marks. LMAO Agree power may be light, but you get a few to exceed expectations and a healthy Utley and you will be fine. We wanted Utley with our 2nd pick, but you nabbed him.

Stan, a little light on speed. A little early on Hardy, IMO. Possible CI issues just like we have. Nice 1-2 punch for starters and some upside to follow. Saves could be tough as well if things don't fall right. I think Eddie's team is a better team. I will now post ours from the 2 hole for all to demolish. I know the Broxton pick is already in question, but based on what was left at closer I liked him best and this was before the Hoffman news was seen by us.

We came in wanting ARod and were happy Hanley went 1. We felt with testing going on that power is tougher to come by and you could get speed late. I wasn't too excited about chasing Taveras in the 9th, but we felt we could sacrifice the "Judy" with what he had in the power department. We wanted to get a younger power staff with upside and while it risky, it could be awesome. Closers are a definite question mark. Our CI is up in the air until camp starts. Weeks is going to be a big part of winning and losing again. We hope to have a chance at the 5th starters spot in Chicago with Hill and Samardzija and we hope Gregg can either close cause Lou loves Marmol to go multiple innings or at worst he can get 10-15 saves. Anyway, thoughts are welcome and just be nice, but I have to say I am ok going into battle with this squad.

Were you on autodraft? JK of course. I like the teams in this league. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses so far. Who is best/luckiest in regards to injuries/FAAB probably takes it.

Good luck to all of you and thanks for sharing your rosters.

He has already shown to be on a decline, but show me another guy drafted after him that is going to hit 30 and drive in 90. We talked Thome a couple picks earlier then we got him and believe in round 18 he is worth it.

I don't think he'll reach those numbers, but to answer your question in terms of who will put up similar numbers - Jack Cust 4 rds later and Swisher 5 later.

I could be wrong as has happened many a times before, but only time will tell.

Since this thread is getting some love, if the participants don't mind I'll add a few more rounds of results tomorrow morning. Maybe go through Round 10 and that will be enough teasing. Thanks all. This is good fun and it's revving up the baseball talk and it's only Jan. 7th.

[/QUOTE]Yeah, we sent out our first NFBC newsletter of 2009 today and we must have had 10 main event signups. I have four CreativeSports signups at my desk that I didn't enter yet, one for each city. So yeah, it was a good day and I like the passion from our members for baseball....even in a down economy. ;) I do worry about the economy, but what the heck, we can't just give up on baseball for a full season, right? :D

Enter Sandman or team 3.

I will go with the positives.

Anytime you get Santana in round 3 pick 3 you have to feel good or lucky.I was after you and in my strategy i dont take a starter till round 5 or 6 but if you passed on Santana i would have started a new plan.I almost took Lincecum but took Rios who i think can hit 22 to 26 homers this year.I also love Billingsley this year and when you took him i went Santana as in THE BIG E.In the 8th round i went Chris Young [ariz] but was thinking Werth and BANG you took him next.I wanted Weiters in the 11th round but you took him in the tenth so i settled on Ianetta.Iwould think Wang bounce's back and round 14 is nice and Adam Jones in the 15th is another upside pick.Oliver Perez in the 19th is a steal he could be 12 wins and 200 k's easy.Salty in round 21 a catcher in the best hitting park in baseball could pay off.I also think one day Brandon Wood is going to be a player with power and he had a nice 2nd half last year, with a good spring he could make the team.

I thought Hardy is more likea 8th round pick not the 5th.Cano in the 6th round isnt a bad round but im down on him ,he just doesnt take a walk and that hurts his run's scored. good luck

J.J. Hardy, I'll take the heat for that pick no problem. But I would be a fool if I told everyone why. After Jeter was taken to start the 5th I had a feeling all the good SS's would be gone by our next pick. Stan and I talked about taking a HR guy like Pena or Dunn but thought the same on Dunn thinking Wash could be his home and kill his stats. We went for MI with SS on our mind. We were both not big on Tulo and the only other guy I feel comes close to value to Hardy is Drew.

I think we have a solid team. With Cuddyer/Y. Escobar/K. Matsui, Wood/Crede, Max Ramirez, Motte, Balester, Moyer, and a prospect on the bench. Closers Street, Ziegler and Motte could get 40-95 SV's but could be a problem and we fall short on SB's only getting 2-5 points from that I feel. Wild cards on the team will be SP's J. Sanchez and O. Perez they could kill our ERA and Whip or fall in line and be a very solid staff.

Hard Heads...overall I liked your draft. I thought that some of your late picks were great and could be useful or better:

Thome, 18, Flores 19, Lowrie 23, Gllagher 28. I also like Q-Manny turn.
