NFBC Draft Champions $250 Slow Draft League No. 1 Draft Order

I'll go into the office this morning and pick this draft order, post it here and then get all of the necessary information to Geoff at MDC.com. Look for an invite to start the draft sometime in the next 24 hours. Good luck all.



I'll also get this on the registration page and start up another $250 signup thread and another $325 signup thread. I'm not trying to overdo this, but we'll let the signups come in as demand warrants and see what happens. The individual league message boards have been very interesting and I've popped in a few times to talk with the guys and read the chats. Cool stuff. If more folks want to partake, we'll offer these at the three levels and see where it takes us.

If you can do this for us, that would be great. Tom and I can do this next week for ya, but as you can see these are starting to pile up so any help from you folks to take care of registration will save us time later. Thanks much.

Geoff said he needed someone to come into the office to set that up for this new league. Once that's done, then everyone will see when it's their turn to pick and that will speed things up. Observations on the Draft Champion Slow Drafts:



1) Feels like Spring Training for the Main Event

2) Great to chat with some other players

3) 45 Freakin rounds!!!

4) Maybe we should have a Super Slow Draft for 2010 that starts after Opening day 2009

5) Never Post/Draft after your favorite team has lost a playoff game in another sport

6) Well named

Greg, Doug Langholz at pick 11 has been on the clock since 4pm yesterday.. that's going on 18 hours.. shouldn't he have autopicked by now? And is there any way you could call him to see what's going on? Thanks!

I did e-mail him again and just sent him a PM. He is schwks on the MB, so if you see him on here remind him of this league. I'll try to call him and get him set up for this league. Sorry for the delay on this league, but let's make sure Doug is in and ready to go and then this league will cruise.

There is still a strategy to setting your KDS preferences and thus I'll try to post a lot of these for the slow drafts to give everyone an idea of what current owners are thinking. A lot will change between now and Draft Day, but it's still interesting.



In this league:



* The average KDS preference received was 5.8, which means each owner got his sixth preference on average.



* Two owners got their first preference, three owners got their second preference and eight owners got a Top 5 preference. The lowest preferences were 10, 11, 13.

I just got back on the computer and pressed the draft button accidently, picking a player I don't neccessarily want. I called the commish, not sure he's around. Any way I can undo the draft pick before the next player is taken???

Mike It looks like you already got a hold of Geoff at MDC.com and he made the change. Those things happen, so if it happens again make sure you click on the Orange Contact Commish button. He will see that and stop the draft.

We have four Slow Drafts going on right now, which is pretty cool for January. The first $325 league is cruising along in the 22nd round, a pretty solid pace for a league that just started last Wednesday. Those folks will be done in less than two weeks. The two we filled yesterday are in the second round and the other league is in the fifth round. Enjoy all and good luck.

For leagues like this without a commish, how do we deal with placeholders? Who records them, who sends to MDC or Stats, etc.?

Geoff will then note the real player selected and update that code before we send to STATS with the final results.

[/QUOTE]Thanks, will do. I worry though about a player being drafted by multiple teams. It may happen with the slow drafts as not everyone is present all the time--someone could log on at 6 am, take a placeholder pick that was previously drafted, log off and then more picks are made before the duplicate is discovered.
