Plans For NFBC Hall of Fame
maybe something like this...
To qualify for nomination into NFBC HOF after 10 years:
6+ main event league titles
5 main event league titles + (1 ultimate league title or 1 super league title or 1 $1,300 auction league title)
4 main event league titles + (2 ultimate league titles or 2 super league titles or 2 $1,300 auction league titles)
3 main event league titles + (3 ultimate league titles or 3 super league titles or 3 $1,300 auction league titles)
3 main event league titles + (1 100K championship)
2 main event league titles + (2 100K championships)

The problem with the mindset is that this site is not just the Main Event any longer. All the other leagues (Ultimate, Super, Auctions, Satellites, and now the online championship make up this one site and all should have equal weight in deciding the HOF players. You cannot weight the Main Event league wins any more than a league win in one of those other leagues. If anything a league win in the Main Event is probably easier than in the other leagues because of the competition level. I do agree however, that the people who win the 100k should automatically get in, because that is the hardest thing to accomplish on this site.
Maybe your a little bitter about getting your ass whooped by yours truly in the only sat league i played. i dont guess that counts for nothing, but hey , ill take the money anyway.

2 main event league titles + (2 100K championships) Nah, common sense my friend, common sense. That will determine the right people for this. I would say that 2 $100,000 titles would be like the 3,000-hit club: YOU'RE AUTOMATICALLY IN!!! : Five league titles in 10 years would be like the 500-Home Run Club: YOU'RE AUTOMATICALLY IN!! The other side events and folks who dominate those are like the 3,000-strikeout club (not a guarantee for the Hall), saves leaders (not a guarantee), stolen base leaders, etc. But add them altogether and you can see a HOF member when you look at their accomplishments. Make sense?

greg. i have always agreed with our founding fathers- voting should not be open to all. that list is a great list. everyone could debate it- but it should never be open to a vote by "the masses". just looking at the hall of fame votes is enough for me. great job.

It would be cool to see a release of who was on the ballots. Who was doing the voting and who they voted for with there reasons.

No reptiles allowed in baseball.
I can't even read my football boards anymore, which is a shame. Now let's all behave so that we don't see the NFBC boards go in the same direction.

if snake were to get on these boards and behave like he does on the nffc boards, i (and many others would be gone).
if you think i'm BSing, go ahead and give greg a call. he'll fill you in.

Relax Nancy. I don't know Snake nor the carnage he inspired. I just find it amusing the pot and kettle getting into it. From what I hear anyways

werent you the one getting death threats on your email not me?
only complaint i ever got was i drank to much at the draft....your complaint list is too long...

It was only -7 this morning and a heat wave is coming today as we'll hit a high of 18. You'd think it's too cold to snow, but somehow it's snowing now and we're expected to get 2-4 inches. This whole week was sub-zero (high of -2 yesterday) and now it's snowing. It never ends.
The Great Depression had the Dust Bowl. The Great Recession has the Big Freeze and the Big Blizzard. Let's just hope this ends soon. March can't come soon enough.

GG what have you got against the people that play in the ultimate leagues. If the comp is not worthy then why dont you enter. A great player like you should win every time, not. If you not playing in these leagues maybe you shoudnt comment on the level of competion. The ultimates have some of the best players and you probably dont qualify. perhaps u didn't read my post. i don't have anything against them. the comp is stronger in that league. however there's no getting away with the fact that the ultimate champ is only beating 14 people, not 300 or 400.
in addition, if the Ult league is given too much value in the HOF voting, 'poor' people who have enough money to just play the main will lose out.
that's why there should be different wings to the Hall of Fame...
1. Main Event
2. Ult lgs
3. Auction lgs
True, in the Ultimate Leagues you're only beating 14 people, but honestly, in my humble opinion, in essence, that's all you're doing in the Main Event. You can outscore the 300-400 other teams, but there's no direct competition that I can see. Each individual draft is entirely different, often radically different, thus the pool of available players at any given point in time during the draft is entirely different, for FAAB as well, the pool of available players at any point in time is different, etc.
I'd liken it unto taking the scoring totals for all of the baseball teams on a given day.
Cardinals 11 Rockies 4
Mets 7 Dodgers 2
Indians 4 Tigers 0
Red Sox 6 Yankees 5
etc.
Now the Cardinals definitely scored more runs than the Mets that day, no disputing that, but did they compete against and defeat the Mets, Dogders, Indians, Tigers, Red Sox & Yankees? In my opinion, they did not.
That's not to take anything away from the Shawn Childs or Gordon Gekkos of the World who have consistently placed well in the NFBC Main Overall Standings. You guys are setting the bar and thus deserve praise. I just don't see it as a 'defeat' of the other 300+ teams, rather it's scoring more against different opponents/teams.
