This is a real interesting concept and it will be interesting who you guys think is the best bargain out there. Is Braun the top pick at $4 or other low-salaried youngsters? I'll make sure to write this story for Rotoworld.com because the concept could catch on!! Again, good job all and it will be a pleasure to run this league.

KJ - Is it possible to just highlight the changed $ figures, I am already working on inputting the numbers you gave earlier and will just adjust my spreadsheet when you send out the update

1) Players where I've updated salaries to '09 contracts (350 players so far).

2) Players who are arbitration-elgible, unsigned or new contract info hasn't been released (appx 360 players). For these players we'll stick with their '08 salaries for the MLBC.

3) Players on neither list, in which case they will be assumed league minimum $400k (or $4 in the MLBC).

I will get this list out tomorrow then update it for new signings as we move towards the draft date. We'll lock salaries at some point prior to the draft.

So I'd suggest waiting for tomorrow's list, and thereafter I'll provide a list of updates only.

Hanley's new deal puts him at $55.

Jose Reyes jumps from $44 to $58.

Ryan Braun goes from $5 to $7.

Lincecum, for now, remains at $4.

A-Rod goes from $280 to $320.

Who will be this lge's Steinbrenner and take him in the first round? After that, Johan Santana, Jeter and Teixera are all $200 players. Barry Zito for $185 anyone?

I see quite a few guys who probably won't get drafted before round 30 that otherwise would go in the first 23 rounds. Interesting will be an understatement!

This is looking like a lot more then a $1,100 team. These price are going to tripple the team price.

If I use the SCL as an example, even with contract inflation the average team cost would increase around $1,300 with no attempt to suppress cost. If guys avoid marginal, high priced players the average comes down to around $1,000 per team. I think we'll have a league average of bewtween $1,000 and $1,100.

Ok guys, the field of competition is set.

I need to create an email list for additional info to be sent out. Dough, Bryan, Ken and Kelly - please shoot me an email at the address in my profile, I have everyone elses.

KDS deadline will be sometime next week.

I am thinking Friday, January 30 would be a good day to begin.

Since there will be only a handful of contract updates each day I could post those every day or so in the MLBC Contract thread up until draft day. Once the draft starts all contracts would be frozen.

Side note...I found this kind of cool how so many successful pitchers have such unique wind ups, steps, arm angle, deliveries, and follow throughs.

Lance/Duke, correct me if I'm wrong but if that's the case wouldn't AROD be at cost $0 if drafted in the 31st round ? There is no MLB minimum of $4 for 31-45 correct ?
