Draft status update:

- 3 teams are spending like its the 1990's

- 3 teams have puked on their shoes after paying up for mediocre talent to fill holes in their lineup

- 3 teams just pop in and out with no worries

- 2 teams are gonna have withdrawal once this draft is over, might have to take up russian roulette to get the rush back

- 1 team is calculating his potential ROI with a 10x plus possible return for a lge minimum payroll

- 1 team is cracking under the pressure

- 2 teams want to kick me in the n*** in vegas for setting this league up

Funny how we ended up the Royals when i called us the Royals before the draft. Can a low market team win it all or just compete for a money spot.We went about 150 over budget which wasnt to bad.We only paid for two player's over 100 dollars .

Manny Rameriz 185 big bucks hopefully is playing for a contract.wE GRABBED mANNY IN THE 8TH ROUND PICK 14 and if he is ready to go he's first round talent.

Gil Meche in the 20th round pick 14 was the other at 110.He's been very solid the last two years and love those 183 k's as he will be are 5th starter.

We also ended up with 4 closers

Qualls 11th round 25 bucks

Gonzalez 12th round 35 bucks

Hanrahan 13th round 4 bucks

Rodney 26th round 27 bucks

I feel we will need points here to compete with thebig boys.Rodney this late was a steal ,he still can hit 97 and will have first shot at closing.I know they just signed Lyon and have Zumaya but even 5 to 10 would make this a great pick this late.

Hell no!!!

It would be fascinating to have an ADP for this and and the next one KJ is putting together. It would be worthless as it pertains to a "normal" league but would give you guys some idea of how crazy it really is!!

Wow KJ and guys, you really pulled this off.

Like Fudd, I thought the concept was nuts when I first saw your ideas, but it looks like fun now!

I'm rooting for the Marlins. Any of them!

It was nuts and probably a cause for an ulcer or two. And no, if you understood all the rules and nuances, you would NOT be rooting for a Marlins!!

For an idea on how long players take in a smooth-running slow draft (8 days to complete):

Steve Wells 3 min per pick

Kenneth Norred 5 min per pick

KJ Duke 10 min per pick

Ferrari/Tapia 15 min per pick

Dan Kenyon 16 min per pick

Stephen Jupinka 18 min per pick

Emory Upchurch 28 min per pick

Tony Cincotta 32 min per pick

Childs/Crane 33 min per pick

Gillis/Turbes 35 min per pick

Kelly Uganski 36 min per pick

Robert Jurney 36 min per pick

Greg Morgan 45 min per pick

Vogel/Williams 51 min per pick

Dan Mitlof 53 min per pick

Everyone averaged less than an hour, everyone was happy.

This was a good group. Kevin kept the draft flowing well and if someone couldn't be there they left a message so others wouldn't be chained to their computer needlessly.

Kevin,

Congrats on doing such an excellent job pulling this thing together. Being a great concept is not enough- your labor of love on this thing made it something I am very interested in for the future.
