Another PM question (same guy): GG, now list some early round steals!!
Answer: How about early value plays from what I've seen from the early satellite leagues:
1. Peavy
2. CC Sab (I'm not a fan of the innings on his arm, but he had good skill growth last year and is now with the Yanks). People could be getting the #1SP in the mid to end of the 3RD ROUND!!
3. Berkman - Gets discounted every year.
4. Tex - his floor is better than most 1st rounders ceilings!

No BS Jack. The season is 26 long weeks. over the course of the past two years, i've been to the point of exhaustion more than once. the last two years, a lot of my prep time was getting up to speed on the player pool (including minor league players). since i know the player pool very well, i can start my prep a little later than usual.

Gekko - if you're a "real" expert, why wouldn't you join a big boys league where strategy decisions are exponential ? (see MLBC/5)

If I read your Busts/Steals right.
Any pitcher in the first 2 rds is a bust,
CC Sab in rd 3 is a steal.
Can you explain?

D) Other D - A good fantasy player needs a balanced team as much as they need a balanced life. Being married with a kid (and a little one on the way), helps keep my priorities in check.
if i was a college dude playing this game i'd
(1) be freaking out from coming so close to winnin the 100K twice and then stumbling at the end
(2) never be able to invest the amount of time needed to succeed because i was out partying, looking for a job, etc...

What hurt you more last year in your pursuit of $100k...drafting Liriano or spending more than 1/2 of your FA dollars on Scherzer?

Can you explain? it's all about opportunity cost. the offensive talent you are missing by taking CC in the 2nd is tough to replace. and heck, why take CC in the 2nd, when he's falling to the 3rd!!!

Can you explain? and remember, my answer to the PM'ers question was in terms of 'value' plays, not steals.

1. He's the biggest bust in fantasy baseball histroy
2. I had to keep him rostered the rest of the year
at least liriano dominated some weak ass lineups when he returned (and yes, i only played liriano AFTER he came back from the minors, i.e. his good run)

see ya in vegas [/QUOTE]i'm not sure how salary strategies will help you in the NFBC.
it does look like a cool concept, but all my memory banks are full of NFBC data/strategy.
