If he does does that mean he could play again? I do remember something said about those without sin casting the first stone.

Laurence (hello Mike) Really? You think that would be miraculous?

Bonds could have played last year.

The problem was finding a team to accommodate the baggage. No takers.

Jurney at the draft in Chicago last season.

The NFBC doesn't test so he went hog wild.

No way he drafts that offense and nails the top spot without juicing.

They all are on something. They may still be on some type of new designer drug that can't be detected or extremley low limits of something.

A-Rod admits to using steroids.

I'll give him credit for being smarter than Bonds, McGwire and Clemens.

I don't recall if A-Rod ever testified (grand jury/Congress) that he did not juice. Is he in trouble "legally" and he will be the next starting third baseman in the NY Penal League?

To my understanding he's in no danger of a suspension or any other type of penalty. This was supposed to be an anonymous test and it came before MLB put in their steroid penalties starting in 2004.

I don't think his legacy has been destroyed, as long as he quit after 2003. Reportedly, he has passed tests since then.

The guy hit 54 HRs in 2007. If drug free, it proves he didn't need the stuff to have a historic season.

Still, I'm very disappointed.

Perhaps destroyed was too harsh. However, I think his legacy has been significantly tarnished. No matter what he does going forward, he'll always have that asterisk clinging to his name and his career accomplishments.

Clemens has shown steroid takers the long and winding road. While Clemens ego got in the way losing millions of dollars in endorsements, players like ARod will still hang onto the money, face no courts or Senate, and for the most part go on their merry way.

Of course, ARod would admit to it, he loses nothing in the way of monetary value. When all is said and done, he'll probably be regarded as Maris was for years( and yes, I'm old enough to remember).

By the time he is ready for the Hall, he will be voted in. By then (hopefully), people will just regard him as one of the many who participated in steroid use during the steroid days.

In the end, besides respect from clean players and old school baseball fans, he will have lost nothing.

I think Bonds, Clemens and McGwire have provided excellent examples of how not to deal with the steroid allegations.

Arod allegedly tested positive for the steroid Primobolan. If I understand correctly, that particular steroid is illegal to use or prescribe in the U.S.; of course he could have received them in the Dominican Republic.

MOST PLAYERS STILL TAKE DESIGNER DRUGS OR SMALL SAMPLE SIZES OF UNDICTABLE DRUGS. GET OVER THIS ASPECT OF WEATHER YOUR GAME IS CLEAN.

DO YOU THINK THE YEAR TERRY HANEY WON 100,000 DOLLARS WITH A-ROD ON HIS TEAM CARES? HOW ABOUT THE MLB OWNERS?

DO YOU THINK MLB IS TRUTHFUL TO THE FANS?

COME ON FOLKS.

COME ON FOLKS. I think Greg needs to get Terry into Iola and question him, under oath, as to whether or not he knew A-Rod was on steriods.

If he did, there needs to be an asterik next to Terry's championship season.

NFBC Hall of Fame? Very, very questionalble for Mr. Haney, particularly if he tries the McGwire approach to answering tough questions.
All I know from meeting Terry and spending plenty of time with him, I can say unequivocably that Terry was not on steroids the year he won the NFBC. And that's all that counts in my judgement. :D The title stands, even with A-Fraud's recent admission.

Yawn. Why is this such a big deal?

We were already aware that lots of players used PED's from 1993 to 2003. Some were allstars, others were insignificant scrubs. 104 players tested positive in 2003, and far less than that have tested positive in the 5 subsequent years combined. PED's are not a part of the game anymore, and I'm not even sure they had a true impact on the numbers. In any event, mission accomplished in getting PED's out of baseball.

Other than supposedly-anonymous/confidential results being leaked to the media, as far as I'm concerned, this is a complete non-story.

I think the biggest thing Glenn is it takes away the glimmer of hope that a clean guy will get Bonds off the top of the homerun list. All in all he did better than I thought he would in the interview.

Sad day for Baseball purists.

Time to blood test everybody but why would baseball or even football, the results might be overwhelming. These days they can **** in a cup until they are blue in the face and never test positive.

Shocked, I am.....Looks like AROD decided to come clean (as it is) with a hybrid of the Giambi dodge and Pettitte penance. Not quite full disclosure but not the Clemens silence or Raffy faceplant. This is going to be an interesting season.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
Funny how one looks at things Kevin. ARod was on my NFBC team in 2004 that finished 4th overall in the main event. After I listened to the ARod interview that he acknowledged using steroids from 2001 to 2003, my first thoughts weren't 'oh how could he have done that' but were 'dang why couldn't have done them for just one more year'.

:D
