Thoughts? as long as you don't have poor in-season management, this team has "league winner" written all over it. simply a DOMINATING draft day performance for you. well done
[/QUOTE]Thanks, but I gotta feeling 14 other ownersare going to have a say in things, and there are a bunch of teams that I think have the potential to be as good or better than mine.

Was a lot of fun though!! ;)

Chicago 4: Pick #4

C Victor (5)

C J. Baker

1B C. Guillen (14)

2B B. Phillips (2)

SS D. Jeter (6)

3B D. Wright (1)

CI AROD (3)

MI L. Castillo

OF N. Cruz (9)

OF B. Hawpe (11)

OF M. DeRosa (13)

OF R. Winn

OF N. Morgan

UT M. Reynolds

P D. Haren (4)

P Y. Gallardo (7)

P R. Harden (8)

P J. Hanrahan (10)

P M. Garza (12)

P K. Kawakami

P T. Percival

P J. Duchscherer

P J. Smoltz

Bench:

OF L. Scott

OF B. Giles

P R. Franklin

P J. De La Rosa

P J. Isringhausen

P J. Contreras

P G. Gonzalez (doh!)

*I can only remember the rounds for the first 14 picks, and even those I am not positive on...

Well, a few things... first off, I DEFINITELY was not considering drafting AROD before he fell to me in the 3rd round... I didn't know what to do, but I figured if he comes back strong, and before June, this might push my team into the elite... gotta go big in the main event when going for the $100,000... a lot of the money teams ended up drafting Pujols late in their leagues last year and it paid off.

Secondly, that closer run was a BITCH. Hanrahan was literally the last closer with a secure job left... not happy about that... I was able to grab Percival later and handcuff Isringhausen to him, and get Franklin as well, so hopefully I have at least 2 closers there total.

I'm a little bit short on steals, but if AROD comes back strong(and maybe even if not) I should be very good in every other offensive category... my main concerns aside from that are saves and getting innings from my pitchers... this rotation will get great ratios, but counting stats will be tough with Harden, Smoltz, and Duchscherer.. I'll definitely be picking up starters throughout the season. I'll be dropping Gio instantly since finding out he isn't going to make the rotation (doh!)... other than those issues though, pretty happy with the team. This was definitely the most trying draft I have ever had in NFBC though... Super Draft was much smoother. Thoughts?

Okay - Time to throw my team up here -

First time in the Main Event for me - enjoyed the draft and like my squad from the #8 slot NY 4- who knows about the 100K - but I think this team will definitely be in the mix for it's league title:

C - Ryan Doumit (7)

C - Mike Napoli (11)

1B- Chris Davis (4)

2B- Asdrubal Cabrera (24)

SS- Jimmy Rollins (1)

3B- Kevin Kouzmanoff (16)

MI- JJ Hardy (8)

CI- Kendry Morales (18)

OF- Matt Kemp (2)

OF- Nick Markakis (3)

OF- Cameron Maybin (13)

OF- Rick Ankiel- (15)

OF- Felix Pie (22)

UT- Fukodome (27)

BN- Rasmus (20), Mcpherson, Laporta, P Alvarez

SP- Chad Billingsly (6)

SP- Brett Myers (9)

SP- Max Scherzer (12)

SP- Johnny Cueto (14)

SP- Jair Jurrjens (17)

SP- Paul Maholm (19)

SP- Kenshin Kawakami (23)

CL- Jon Paplebon (5)

CL- Brian Fuentes (10)

BN- Wheeler (21), Villanueva (25), De La Rosa(29)

Caught some power values that were too good to pass up in Hardy (8th rd!!) and Ankiel (15th). Team grades out well, and that is with very conservative projections for Maybin and Pie. Definitely have a lot riding on C Davis and M Napoli. I think A Carbrera was a steal once I decided to wait at 2B- the 24th rd means there is nothing but profit in that pick. I will need to fill in at CI for 2 weeks til Morales is CI eligible (Tom can you get me off the hook for old time sake ?? Hello- P Sandoval????) but I'll fill in with whatever FAAB scrub looks the best. Like all my SP and Fuentes back issues aside - I like my bullpen better than most that I've seen - even at 20 svs from Fuentes - this is still a 90-100sv pen.

From pick 13 in Chicago League 3

and let me just say we have a competitive league I think! My first 45 projected were taken with the first 45 picks! No surprises and played it tight for the first 8 rounds or so then I took who I wanted before having to wait another 25 picks to get back to me. So here goes...

C Soto (4)

C Varitek (24)

1B Lee (5)

2B Kinsler (1)

SS Escobar (13)

3B Beltre (9)

MI Bartlett (19)

CI Butler (16)

OF Man Ram (2)

OF Granderson (3)

OF Nady (10)

OF Burrell (12)

OF C. Gomez (14)

UT C. Ross (22)

SP Shields (6)

SP Vazquez (8)

SP Jered Weaver (15)

SP Sonnanstine (17)

SP? Morrow (18)

SP Pettitte (20)

SP Uehara (21)

RP Cordero (7)

RP Lindstrom (11)

Bench

Hitters-Fukudome, Lugo, E. Velez, G. Sanchez

Pitchers- Rauch, Villanueva, J. McDonald

Ok boys & girls have at it! Please any comments would be appreciated. I don't see a $100,000 team yet, but I like my team but who doesn't at this point!

Thanks

Pat Hey, overall I like this team a lot.. very balanced I think. However, it seems Soto, Lee, Escobar, and Nady went way earlier in your league than other leagues.

Thanks Dave for the comments - and I don't disagree with the downside look at my rotation - but that is the fun part, right. They will be fun to watch though.

I'm a big fan of this team. A little light on steals, but good values abound here.

SP Randy Wolf (21)

SP Ben Sheets (23)

Bench: Clint Barmes (25), Mark Teahen (26), Josh Willingham (30)

Bench - P: Jaime Moyer (24), Dana Eveland (27), Braden Looper (28), David Aardsma (29).

Please feel free to offer constructive criticism or useful suggestions.

I know I made some rookie mistakes, Edwin too early, Sheets too early, light on SB's, average on SV's, not the best "bench". These do have reasons behind them, mainly reacting poorly to being snaked on a pick.

Thanks for your input - ZackPhilly.
