My partner and I in NY3 had a big laugh over Burrell lasting to the 17th round. He wanted me to pick him and as a long-time Phillies fan I kept passing on him. Jared finally grabbed him.

I owned Milledge, D. Young, Dukes, and Gomez last year, and except for steals I ended up very disappointed. Tis' another year though.

You're one of the few who I keep an eye on because of your previous track record. This team definitely looks like a contender. I love Marshall (who I drafted in both of my satellites but missed in the main) and Owings who I was able to get. If you saw what Happ did at the end of last year in the majors and combine that with his '08 minor league stats, I'm surprised more people aren't going after him sooner but I guess they want a pitcher who has already been given a job in the rotation.

Best part of the draft - accounting for ADP and adjusting to get your players you want i.e Alexei, McCann. Also, Broxton = potentially top 3 closer who could be had a couple of rounds later than papelbon and be just as good.

I'd like to get your opinion on the team my co- manager and I drafted. I'll try to post it tomorrow when I get home from work. Good luck to you this year. We picked #10 from Chicago league 4.

Gekko looked at your draft board,,why did u pass on holliday and liriano,,especially since you had liriano last year and that he's doing great in spring training?

GG, I'm curious what your actual projections are for each of the 10 cats for your team? Are you thinking you'll have more than the 150 SB's that I see? ya, it's 280 easy for hr. rbi/run can always flucuate so i don't really look at them as much. sb i got at 150 (without counting mccutchen). :D

backend pitching needs work, but when doesn't it? :D

i'd love to see a team with more power than this one, that still met the batting avg and speed requirements. i don't think we'll see that happen. :D

[/QUOTE]yeah- getting Pujols goes a long way. I give you credit for going pitching with 4, 5 AND 6 and still being able to draft this type of well balanced offense.

Biggest challenge will be whether any or all of your OF predictions truly break out- but then again, I am not " in the know."

10 Milledge 11 A.Jones 12 E.Dukes 13 C.Gomez personally, i think the OF is the weakest part of this team. Hunter was a solid pick, but the rest of the guys could fizzle out real quick.

I think I have a team that meets the speed power requirement without sacrificing average.

C - Hernandez

C - Clement

1b- Pujols

2b- Johnson

3b- Mora

Ss- Peralta

Mi- Cabrera

Ci- Morales(Ishikawa 1st week)

Of- Manny

Of- Ellsbury

Of- Pence

Of- Ethier

Of- Matsui

Ut- Anderson/Gardner

P- Haren

P- Joba

P- Weaver

P- Er. Santana

P- Harang

P- Owings

P- Purcey

P- Broxton

P- Capps

B- Ishikawa, Gardner, F Sanchez, Gamel, Gerut, Braden, DeLaRosa

I know what my projections say, but would love to here from others. Obviously some line-up work needs to be done to get my steals up over 150.

Hopeful for Santana but took the risk because I liked some end game pitchers.

Didn’t get there. I see 260 hr (which is still good, but not 280). I also see 120 stolen bases and that’s with Anderson/Gardner getting 25, which may not happen. You are correct, your avg looks very good at first glance.

holliday - didn't fit in my draft plan for a 15 team draft. much easier to "fit in" in a 12 teamer...at least with the strategy i will employ.

OK this is what I get for your team

Avg-Runs-HR-RBI-SB

McCann C .294-65-22-89-3

Iannetta C .265-61-18-67-0

Pujols 1B .327-108-36-117-4

Blake 3B .270-70-18-72-3

Overbay 1B .272-70-15-68-0

A. Ramirez 2B .285-83-24-89-14

J.Lopez 2B .288-79-18-85-4

A. Cabrera SS .272-78-11-69-7

Hunter OF .282-88-24-92-17

Dukes OF .274-79-22-77-18

Gomez OF .273-89-11-68-38

Milledge OF .276-76-16-68-26

A. Jones OF .274-76-15-71-11

Thome DH .262-84-28-88-0

Totals

Avg .279

Runs 1081

HR 280

RBI 1112

SB 145

A very solid team, I had my team at .284, 1091, 264, 1118, 150. I'm thinking i should have jumped on Pena instead of Loney in the 9th because I wanted to be at 275+ for HR's at the end of the draft myself.

Pitching

Wins-Saves-ERA-WHIP-K

Beckett SP 17-0-3.65-1.18-185

Billingsley SP 16-0-3.29-1.30-195

Broxton RP 4-32-2.96-1.18-93

Jurrjens SP 14-0-3.60-1.31-136

Marshall SP 11-0-3.75-1.29-122

Zimmermann SP 8-0-4.15-1.26-118

Blanton SP 11-0-4.41-1.36-120

Lyon RP 4-14-3.86-1.37-43

Owings SP 7-0-4.22-1.38-102

Totals

Wins 92

Saves 46

ERA 3.80

WHIP 1.29

K's 1114

I have IP for Zimmermann at 141, Marshall at 156 and Owings at 145. So you could get a few more wins and K's out of that group.

I feel you have a very solid staff, some high WHIP guys but solid overall. I'm not a fan of Blanton but his 230 IP the year before has something to do with his bad numbers last year so I can see him doing much better this year.

I had Carpenter, Marshall, Owings, Zimmermann on my list to get but Zimmermann went in the 20th I got Marshall in the 20th and Owings went in the 22nd when I was looking to get him in the 23rd. Carp was drafted in the 12th right before Verlander and just after Kershaw.

Definitely don't see eye-to-eye with you on every player. Thought I got some good values, though. I see picks 3-5 as my biggest risks.

Snord - THANK YOU for giving such an in-depth analysis. while i'm higher on some of my player's batting avgs than you are, pretty good numbers.

although, if a.jones only steals 11 bases, i'll eat my shorts. one of my trusted "people" said he's good for 30 this year.
