Fact - Gekko has the personality to be on TV/radio.

Fact - Gekko has the knowledge to win the grand prize.

Fact - When he does win, we'll never hear the end of it and I for one, am glad. :D

Okay, we've enjoyed the smack talk for the day. Time to move on everyone. I realize that this down time before the season starts is a good time to talk smack, but with so many new members on the boards we really don't need a week-long dose of it.

Whether you like GG or not, he has won $100,000 in the NFFC and has won back-to-back league titles in the NFBC with two Top 6 finishes. Those are some pretty good accomplishments and ESPN would be wise to put him or a number of our other accomplished players on the air if they so choose. If you get him in your league this year, feel free to SHUT HIM UP!!! But until then, let's just move on.

The funny thing about folks who are the loudest on the message boards is that folks who finally get to meet them in person always seem to say "man, you're so much different in person." My man Dyv was the first one to fool everyone that he appeared like a crusty old man on the MBs, only to find out in person that his only flaw was his height. :D

Gekko is similar. Then Fudd jumps on here and seems like the new villain, only to find out he's a 48-year-old passionate baseball fan who just likes to stir up the pot with the group. He sat and drank with the group all weekend in Las Vegas and was as common as the next guy.

But they look different on the message boards. I guess it's called antagonizing and when folks "over boast" everyone wants to just SHUT THEM UP. I'm cool with that, but let's keep personal feelings out of it. It's a Message Board with folks battling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Let's compete in good fun and keep the smack talk civil.

I for one wasn't thrilled about GG either until I met the guy in person and Greg's right I said it to my boy Marc Quitsch (Diesel)...wow...( man I can't believe that's him...totally opposite of what I expected )

That's the funny part about e-mailing,texting,mb'ing....you take the message as how YOU read it....

It's very simple you can read his posts and not reply...you could choose not to read them at all or you can choose to reply to a guy's mb'ing who has WON the NFFC and done very well for himself in baseball. The statistics speak for themselves.

Whether you call it bragging, boasting, being a tool ...whatever....he backs it up.

I just wish everyone could play nicey, nice.

Good luck to everyone this season... it's great being tied for first overall right now.

There certainly does appear to be a double standard here. Jim Young challenges Crazy like Fox to put his money where his mouth is by entering main, then half a dozen guys jump on him for attacking Crazy. Gekko does the same damn thing and....crickets.

Gekko insults people on here who disagree w/ him all the time and now the boss (Greg) has to defend the worst smacktalker on this MB!

I believe that anything you type here you should be willing to say to a person's face. Why is it ok to come off like a jerk on the MB b/c in "real life" you're a good guy?

Why not be a good guy all the time? It is possible to talk smack w/out coming off like an arrogant condescending jerk.

1. I did not start this thread

2. I didn't post until after some "negative nancies" came out from under their rocks

3. my feelings don't get hurt by posts on a MB. like my momma taught me, just consider the source.

4. i have no idea why greg posted. you'll need to direct your questions to him. my GUESS is that he doesn't want the "negative nancies" to bring down his MB

5. i am a nice guy, but i don't sugarcoat things esp when it comes to baseball. if you are looking for a "yesman", you got the wrong guy

6. stop the jealousy b4 it consumes you...

Very few emotions are as negative and as self-destructive as the green-eyed "monster" known as jealousy. It has the power to cloud the mind and ignite self-destructive behavior. If left unchecked, the poisonous feelings of jealousy can evolve into a state of unhealthy rivalry, unresolved resentment, and mismanaged anger. However, with education and understanding, people may come to realize that they do not have to be slaves to these negative emotions if they can deal with jealous feelings positively and decisively. :D

Gecko,

In the midst of all the back and forth on this posting, one thing has been left out. Is this true? Are you going to be on ESPN? If so, what show, date, and time? Or, is this all part of the hype machine? Do tell.......

Gekko only posts baseball information (true or false!) about players until someone attacks him. I like his posts and find them amusing. If you dont want to read so much about his posts then dont reply to them and he would go away. He does for the NFBC what howard stern is radio.

and top 10 two years in a row is pretty damn impressive! But i think 2009 might be different ;)

OK; $500 Satellite League next year. Lower finisher OA pays the entry fee. Your NY 6 against my LV 9.
