What's Your Take On Free Agent Signings?

If you were running a Major League Baseball team, would you spend $33 million over four years for Russ Ortiz (equivalent to $33 bid on Draft Day)? Would you pay Pedro Martinez $53 million over four years? Would you be concerned about Richie Sexson's shoulder enough to not give him a four-year, $50 million deal?

What do you think of Adrian Beltre now that he's going to Safeco Field, a pitcher's park if there ever was one? Does playing there for 81 games (hopefully) also hurt Sexson's value?

As someone who lives in Wisconsin but hasn't followed the Brewers closely since 1992, I'm happy to see a Brewers' GM finally make some smart moves. Trading Dan Kolb for Jose Capellan is a classic move by a GM that knows he's building for the future. Trading Podsednik for Carlos Lee is another good move as Dave Krynzel can be a Podsednik clone in another year.

I love what the Braves did to get Tim Hudson. Wow, can you imagine the A's just giving Hudson away? That's a deal that might have been nullified by some fantasy commissioners!

Anyway, let's see some feedback. We can't watch NFBC signups all day long on these boards, so let's talk baseball and get some feedback on these wild and crazy off-season signings.
