Anybody know why Shields closed out tonight? Is this looking like a committee situation?

If there was any other year to your knowledge with the most opportunity to try the no-closer-route...tell me the year.

This year was ripe with wasted draft picks...and will be ripe with wasted $$$$$$$$$.

Whomever got those top 8 studs...kudos.

Shields was especially happy to preserve the Angels' victory because it wasn't just any other game.

"We wanted that win bad," Shields said. "Once I went back out there in the ninth I wanted to shut it down. We wanted that 'W' for him and for his parents."

Maybe they were letting his teammate/friend close it out for Adenhart? Nice thing to do.
