Jays place Romero on DL
Blue Jays pitcher Ricky Romero has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a muscle strain.
The rookie left-handeder has a right oblique muscle strain, the team said in a statement today.
The move is retro-active to April 20
Romero, 24, is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in three starts this season. He was the Blue Jays first round selection, sixth overall in the 2005 draft.
A further roster move will be made prior to Saturday's game at Chicago, the Jays said.

The Blue Jays...
Doc Halladay, and then open the dome in a rain storm. Is there anyone else healthy enough to pitch in that organization?

Well, I know Jesse Litsch used to be a bat boy with Oakland, so they might start scouting other teams between innings.
Of note though, Tallet is available in a lot of leagues, and he might be worth looking at. He's going to get a few starts in Toronto, and his last three years have been dynamite out of the pen.

Wrong Bay area. He was a bat boy for the Devil Rays....he's a local boy.

Whoops, sorry. It has been a couple years since I saw that piece on him.
In other non-surprising news related to Jays pitchers, BJ Ryan has just hit the DL.
I'm sending in my resume.

Wonder if the Jays need a junk-balling 42-year old who can't hit 70 w/o rupturing an organ?
....nah, they already have BJ Ryan.

People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
