Funny...those are the only two movies where I can stand Costner in the role.

He sucks...but he plays a boring baseball player well. Come on Lance- you didn't like:

No Way out? Tin Cup? Perfect World? The Untouchables?

AND afer Eastwood and Wayne- Costner is the best cowboy with classics like:

Dances with Wolves

Silverado

Open Range

Wyatt Earp

Costners is like Adam Dunn- lots of swings and misses (and walks) but lots of HRs also.

I am saddened to see that Sandlot is not anywhere in this conversation...if you grew up loving baseball and don't think this is one of the greatest movies ever then it's a damn shame.....

Also League of their own is a great movie
Sometimes I'm good and sometimes I'm bad....but I always try real hard.

[/QUOTE]Basically you like the movie he is in, I'd guess...but if you replace him with an actually talented actor...all of those movies you mention become much better movies.

I think he sucks as a cowboy, too...completely ruined Open Range.

Hate to admit it, but I liked The Babe with John Goodman.

Find the best moment of acting Costner has ever done...the best scene...and I'll laugh at the quality of acting he provides to that scene.

He's a better movie maker than actor.
