WOW! The biggest bargain on draft day.

Advocates have been waiting for this year for a while. He puts it all together for an MVP season and is the first guy in more than 65 years to bat 400

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Mauer's ADP in the NFBC main event was 106, with a high pick of 58 and a low pick of 152. In the Saturday night Super League, Mauer went 186th, sixth pick of the 13th round. He was the ninth catcher picked that night, even after Matt Wieters.
Mauer's ADP in the NFBC Online Championship was 114, with a high pick of 65 and a low pick of 181. That's Round 15 for those of you scoring at home in the 12-team league format.

What about all the people that took Josh Hamilton over Ryan Braun becaus of his oblique injury that came on during preseason. Only to find out that Hamilton is the one with the oblique injury. Truly ironic!!

I am one of those who was saying no way would I take Mauer this year with the Back problems. I have had back issues in the past and know that you are always one bad nights sleep or a single twist and you go into excrutiating pain.
Congrats to all who took the plunge! It is amazing what he has done so far.

Most people like to talk or brag about their great draft picks after the fact (including myself) but not everyone face up and admit when they were wrong about a player like you have done with Mauer. Got to give you props for that.
Like the status quo, I dropped Mauer down on my draft sheet because of the back/SI issues. I missed him by 1 pick in the main in rd 8 (which is where we wanted him) and did draft him in the online championships. Unbelieveable season for him but I never saw it coming. Wish I could say I did.
