Ditto...I'll be working today during that time.

Glad you bumped it to 30 min. Soon you'll be at 1 hour. One hour flies by live. Maybe not so fast on podcast, but live the hour goes real fast...you'll see.

If you want an off the beaten path opinion or debate, or a drinkers viewpoint...or want to know what a player looks like (you know...current facial hair patterns, choice of neckware, clean flat or dirty brimmed cap, etc... :D ;) ) ...count me in!

[/QUOTE]the damn thing about this is i can't test drive this without setting up a show and doing it. unfortunately, they won't let me set up a test run today, because i already have a show scheduled. sounds like only one show per day.

I'm old with no life. Sure I'll listen in. Good luck. My question for your show. When picking up a water bottle do you lead with the left or the right?

Good stuff Mark and Greg.

I don't know whether it was just my sound or not, but Greg was easy to hear, while your end was a little muffled, Mark.

Chris Poulson thanks chris. that's a key point...having a quality guest. without one i'm just kind of a talking head. only works for so long.

next time, i'll just bite the bullet, use a landline and get some more great guests lined up. thanks again. :D

now be honest, who else knew that:

*Arizona on the road has the 2nd worst OPS in all of baseball

*Arizona has the worst strikeout rate in all of baseball.

Gotta get or create a version of "Sweet Child of Mine" (or any song you like) that fades out into your first words.

Greg's voice was clear. Get a calling card and go land line. Some of those calling cards are super valued.

The more comfortable you get...the more naturally you will unleash the controversial great white shark we know and love. Liked the "seals" comparison...more original that simply "fish or guppies".

Greg made a great guest, as always.

Future Jim Rome, baby...F-Mathew Berry! Gotta set the sights higher!

Here's a controversial subject for a future show...

Watching the STL/CIN game (WATCHING  ) there was a steal attempt where the catcher nailed the throw way ahead of the runner, but the 2B phantom swiped without touching the player, and he was called (correctly) SAFE!

The commentators (who sometimes drop a gem here and there...another benefit of LISTENING  to a game) made the point that the guy who made the call was a "replacement" player for an umpire out sick or on vacation. They painted it like the "rookie" minor league umpire played/called it by the book, whereas the "veteran" ump would have given the OUT call.

I call bullshit.

They baby these fragile prima donnas too much already...at least don't call a player out who is untouched so the 2B/SS can save risking an injury should he have to actually TOUCH the player to make a non-force out.

Yep good show. GG- a little monotone there- play it back- greg added a lot of life to the show. But again for a first show- very good.

2 things:

1. nolasco- we paid over 500 for him in our online championship league - might be our team (league 2, april 4th) that greg was referring to.

2.Weiters is up for good this year. Doesn't matter if he's striking out 1 in 3 or 1 in every 4.5 abs. Had some great swings and hit the ball real hard off verlander- weiters is the real deal.

again, props on a good first show.

Post Show Recap

You know me, I like to do a good job at whatever I do. Yesterday, I get home from a tough day at the water delivery office and begin prepping for the 6pm show. In the middle of my prep (a little after 5pm, my kid says to me…”Dad, mom and I are hungry. What are you making for dinner?” Instead of fighting a losing battle, I get up from the computer, grab some hamburgers and threw them out on the grill. All the while I was pacing back and forth on my deck thinking about the upcoming show. 30 minutes later, dinner was over. I ask my wife for a kiss and a “wish me good luck” before I return to my man-cave. She said, “I don’t know why you need to spend more time on that stupid fantasy baseball stuff. There’s a lot more important things in life than being on the radio.” Normally I’d return fire, however, my wife is about 7 months pregnant. I said, “you’re right”, and I bolted to the man-cave. Ahhhhhh…..nothing like family!!!

As for the show…

Things I was pleased with:

- Greg calling in!

- Got the first one out of the way!

- Learned some “timing” issues

- As I was about 50% of the way though my introductory material, I could see that Greg hadn’t called in yet. No problem, he’ll be there soon. At 75% through, still no Greg!!!!! Panic started to set in, as I created some nice bits for him and I to interact, but really nothing for just me. One person talking to himself does begin to get boring quickly. I started to slow down a bit and adlib some of my scripted material. Then with about 90-95% of my introductory material gone, Greg called in. Saved! Woohoo!!

Things I was NOT pleased with:

- Muffled voice via cell phone connection

- Entrance song was not supposed to by Sweet Child of Mine. I changed and saved it before the show to an alternate song. I even double-checked it. I’m not sure why it didn’t change

- The “host dashboard” only shows about 6 or 7 sound effects on the screen. With me having 15+, I had to constantly scroll through the screen to try and find the right one. There’s plenty of room on the “dashboard”, so I’m not sure why they don’t make more sound effects visible

Hey, I'm always prompt. :D I figured if I called too early it would throw off your opening monologue and I didn't want to steal your thunder. I was ready with my material and ready to talk for an hour. I didn't even get to say that the White Sox have Gordon Beckham playing at third base at Triple-A, a sure sign that they want him up sooner rather than later. Oh well, I'll save that for my next guest appearance. :D

As I said on the show, I think these type of shows are the viral type of promotion we need to spread the word about the NFBC and high-stakes games in general. Tom and I have talked about doing one of these here and we have a studio built in the company as other divisions are doing these. But at the end of the day, between having football magazine deadlines each week for four straight weeks and running the NFBC and NFFC and NFBBC there's just not enough time in the day for us to do this. We still might do our own show, but it's easier for me to just appear on GG's show or Jules' show or someone else's and have fun with it. I love doing these.

In 1992 when our company gave us an ultimatum for killing Fantasy Sports Magazine, my publisher and I agreed to buy radio time for eight weeks on a national radio program, airing fantasy baseball talk twice a week for an hour. I did 16 shows from my home with live call-in questions and got a rush out of it. Not knowing what the next question was going to be and having to know every player and every situation was intense but cool. I got a rush out of that and have loved doing these type of interviews ever since. When ESPN Radio asked me to do a 7-minute Sunday night show with Jack Arute from 2000-04 we really had a lot of fun with that and seemed to spread the word again in a different national forum.

But these viral shows are good too. Good luck with this GG, but don't get the Mrs. too mad at you. Nobody is getting rich from these shows and who knows where it could go. But I do know that winning a national fantasy baseball title AND having your own show looks good on a resume!! :D Good luck with both ends of that doubleheader. ;)

Call Tom or I anytime if you need a guest. We're here to help.

Applaud your effort, anything to enhance the enjoyment of this hobby is a positive step. I do feel that the self proclaimed "best" fantasy player in the world does need to be able to pronounce the name of Chad Gaudin.... Go-Dan! ;)

I enjoyed the "cavalry" intro, good stuff. Having Greg on lends instant credibility to the show, even if the big guy was unusually harsh on Sean Marshall. Yeah, he beat me up on Sunday night as well but I'm putting his performance at the feet of some crappy handling from Sweet Lou.

Going forward, like the idea of Sunday night with a discussion on FAAB. I just wonder how much of that you'll be able to "real" speak if you are involved in league/overall battles. The NFBC family is sharp, as you know, and the good players are going to make it a point to grab an inside track.

Bravo - good luck going forward.

thanks Ken!

u might find it funny, but i was going to begin the show with 2 things about me:

1. I am THE best fantasy baseball player in the country ;)

2. I am horrible at pronouncing player's names. They are just numbers to me

I decided to cut it out, but maybe i shoulda left it in!

your point about sunday night is taken. i'm not sure how i can get around that, but i'm working on it.

1) You can have at least 5 callers at a time... You can mute the callers and keep them on hold if they annoy you or breath heavy.

2)You can only schedule one show a day until you get a couple of hundred people to listen to a show..Not sure of the exact number. Then you can schedule up to 2 hours a day.

3) You will be blocked from scheduling a show from 7-11 EST for a short time.

Good Luck,

Tony Cincotta
