Got to be Jose Contreras. He has pitched 16 scoreless innings in two outings since returning to the majors, allowing just three hits in the process.

Are his last two starts a sign of things to come? Rumor has it, Contreras tinkered with his "mechanics" in the minors. I don't have enough money to get him, so why not give out Gekko's best FAAB play of the week!

If you are looking to save your ERA/WHIP, Contreras could be the guy you are looking for.

Last week the big names in my main were

G Gonzalez 222

Bastardo 123

MacDougal 87

Bonderman 55

Now Mazzaro went a lot in other mains but was able to get him for 17 which might have been the lowest he went in any main.Other bargains last week

Church 7 buck's 4 r's 4 rbi's 1 hr 1 steal,Church bat's 5th againest righties and i think he can give me some power as a 5th outfielder which i need.

Bloomquist 3 buck's, he play's everywhere and a nice week with one day left 4 rbi's 400 bavg and 3 steals.

eddie - this thread is about THIS week, not last week. now, who is your top FAAB play this week?

How about the redhot Sean Rodriguez? Just called up when Howie Kendrick got demoted. Rodriguez can plug the hole that many teams have at MI. THIS year at AAA he has already hit 21 homeruns in only 205 at bats. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better number for a 2nd baseman!

It's funny how you want an open pool, but you like to drive prices with Gekko propaganda. Knowing you, you probably looking to add another San Diego double starter on your team. He has to be worth at least $35 in your league this week.

Rodriquez has nice numbers but Macier Izturis might be the better play.

Ild give you another Jed Lowrie he should be back soon and should get plenty of at bats.

Agree Contreras looks good ,really liked the 8'k's, in 8 innings.

multiply that by 5 and you'll have a better estimate for how much to spend on Contreras!

Chad Gaudin went undrafted in Gekko's NY 6 League this week, while Gekko spent $5 on Vicente Padilla and $2 on David Huff.

Sounds like 100% BS to me.

[/QUOTE]i didn't think there was much of a chance of not getting gaudin.

my bids and contingents:

Contreras

Correia

Padilla

Huff

Gaudin

knew i didn't have enough money to get Contreras or Correia, so i was left with Padilla, Huff, Gaudin. thought i'd get EITHER padilla or huff, but not both. oh well.

buster - maybe you should focus more on your team and less on mine. all u can see is the bid results, not who i had queued up. just a thought.

I don't make 100% guarantees, so this is not about me. By the way, my team is doing just fine, thanks for asking.

Got Correia for $6 in the main event and online championship. Got Bergeson for $19 and $23 respectively in two online championship leagues without anybody else bidding $1 dollar. Then in the main event I don't get Bergeson because someone bid $139. Amazing that $139 is the going price in one league and in others my bids go uncontested.

Such is life...now to figure out my starters for the upcoming week...some 2 start guys versus 1 start studs.

I don't focus on your team.

Such is life...now to figure out my starters for the upcoming week...some 2 start guys versus 1 start studs. its not surprising at all- There is a huge difference between the bidding in a 15 team format than a 12 team one. There are 90 less players available- Scarcity drives up the price.
